Glen, How does the one pass work out? I've tried it a few times, doing a XTG on my cheeks and an ATG along my jaw line, the rest seems to fall into place, not a total bbs but close. I do this when I'm in a hurry.Quote:

I have been messing with it for a few months now, at first it was just WTG and that was ok... Then recently I started doing the strokes on my face that I knew cut best on those spots.. I can get a BBS shave for the direction that I cut the hair, pretty easy...I get a good 12 hour shave out of it, but the best part is ZERO irritation.. You also have to realize that I keep a very light beard so the angles I use are not the best, and the strokes are short little things, so a zero irritation shave is pretty darn good I think...

[Sorry. I don't have a photo of this one yet.]
First shave with the little E. A. Berg that I bought a while back but haven't had the time to clean up and hone until now.
I'm usually not that into small razors but I was looking for one to put in my travel bag and the Berg fit the bill.
I must say I was positively surprised. The Berg is easy to hone and took a wicked sharp edge. Effortless BBS. :)

The Filarmonica 14 Barbas Duras is seriously a ridiculous shaver. If you have ANY imperfection on your face, it will surgically remove it. I had a small blemish that got taken clean out. I think this thing is eclipsing the Klaas as my favorite shaver.

Now I'm not going to say my honing is as good or close to Max's who is my only point of reference, that's ridiculous. The guy has thousands of razors under his belt (sounds uncomfortable, right?) BUT the shave was comfortable and easy, that's what matters right?
Soap: TGQ Autumn Spice SS
Brush: Tweezerman
Razors: Started with Dovo "Best Quality", but used my trusty Kraut & Donal "Regina" for the final pass, since the tiny size and the spike point makes it super easy to touch-up any of the tricky spots I may have missed (chin and under-jaw, usually - my beard grows on an odd diagonal which is hard to get ATG on with a larger blade)
AS: Nivea Replenishing Balm
No-name styptic pencil for a couple of weepers - think it's time I got me a touch-up hone, shaves aint as smooth as they used to be.

Pre Proraso
Omega boar brush
La Toja shaving cream
Le Grelot 1/4 grind
Aloe AS + Aqua Velva (EU version)
By now I am almost certain that I get a "tingling" feeling, like little needles puncturing the skin, everytime I use La Toja (except the Sensitive skin version), which is stronger when using the shave stick, it is not unbearable, but I do not think I will be using it much, as there are other creams/soaps out there. It is s pity, is a great cream, I guess is caused by the mineral salts in it, and is also very cheap around here!!

2 passes atg and xtg, bbs. Have been experimenting with a way to warm up my brush prior to shaving, without using a scuttle. Water from our tap isn't as hot as it used to be, we need to replace the hot water heater. So I hit upon the idea of using my Old Spice coffee mug to warm my brush. I heat the water for no longer than 1 minute in the microwave and by the time I'm ready to shave the water is still reasonably warm. This was also my first trial of Lucky Tiger "Aspen " a/s, I was quite pleased with the sent, quite remiscent of an old fashioned barber shop.
