Pre-Shave: Stephan's Smooth Conditioning Shaving Creme Razor: 6/8" Full Hollow C.V. Heljestrand "Royal Kindal", Round Point Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger Lather: "Da Bomb" (Saigon) Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel Post-Shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food, Trumper's Moisturizer Cologne: Trufitt & Hill Grafton 1805 Result: This morning, I had the pleasure of trying two new things: 1) sample of Da Bomb Saigon shave creme sent by my good friend Bill (aka, LegalBeagle - Thank you Bill:tu, and 2) The Heljestrand Royal Kindal full hollow razor, which I snatched off B&B. The creme has a lemongrass, peanut smell (which I didn't mind), makes a great consistent lather and stays moist throughout an entire pass :). The Royal Kindal didn't have a good bevel or edge, so over the weekend, I reset the bevel on this (like my Dubl Duck) with my Naniwa 1K, and took the edge through my 5K, 8K and 12K Naniwas followed by 10 laps on CrOx linen and 50 laps on leather (Premium IV - SRD). The edge was even and super sharp. The ultimate test came today as this blade delivered an extra smooth shave...no pulling, no tugging. Just pure, unadulterated shave:y.
Have a great week guys

Getting Artsy and Fancy my friend? Nice touch!
And Guys. You all ROCK big time. Thx for making the SOTD better each and every week. Our forum has grown from just a few SOTDS's to a daily album of some of the hottest, rarest, shiniest most striking razors of the whole shaving world!
I (and the whole SRP team) really feel blessed with all of you.
Thank you Bill,
It's is an awesome blade. In fact, during my short tenure of str8 shaving, I have yet to meet a blade I didn't like. I am sure that as more experience accrues over time, so will my discrimination skills...I'll be more picky.
Also, thanks for sending me some of that "Bomb" creme that Al Raz makes (Am I right?)...it was a great lather this AM. Now, between CarrieM, Al Raz and his "Da Bomb" and Mama bear soaps, I am going to go crazy :D. They are all Awesome.
I like your SOTD and glad that BB has become a daily routine in your shaves.

Very close and comfortable BBS shave this morning. My observations of the Proraso shave cream showed that it provides a great scent and close shave. It has a slight cushion that keeps the razors edge from feeling harsh. I wouldn't say it's a lot of cushion but enough to provide a very comfortable shave. The slip or glide factor wasn't off the charts (compared to MWF) but was plenty adequate to allow the razor to perform its tasks with minimal resistance or hesitation. I didn't use the Pre-Shave Proraso cream as a beard prep before shaving so as to get the pure feeling of the Proraso Shave Cream alone. I think using the pre-shave cream would lubricate the skin and help to provide the extra cushion that would enhance the performance of the SC itself. Proraso shave cream provides an even and lasting lather that has a great scent. I would recommend this SC to anyone that wants a mentholated SC with great performance. http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/ima...s/happy005.gif
LOVE that C-mon Bruce!!! thats definitely on my list of next straight to buy :)

I'm relatively new, and I can't match many of the great photos posted here, but these gents inspire me to try harder, put more thought into it, and improve. I enjoy the shave and the photographic evidence of it more and more..
Thanks again... A little compliment goes a long way!

Pre-Shave: Stephan's Smooth Conditioning Shaving Creme Razor: 6/8" Full Hollow C.V. Heljestrand "Royal Kindal", Round Point Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger Überlather: CarrieM Dragon's Blood creme + TOBS violet soap + squirt of glycerin Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel Post-Shave: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food, Trumper's Moisturizer ASB: Trufitt & Hill Grafton 1805 Result: This morning, I wanted to stick to using my newly honed (by yours truly :)) Heljestrand Royal Kindal and my Vulfix super badger brush. I really must say that I enjoy my überlather. The combination of CarrieM creme with soap/glycerin provides a fantastic slip, moist, and thick cushion that is off the charts...not to mention, allows any blade to easily glide and cut any whiskers (including thick ones). As before, the Kindal's performance was nothing short of royal...very comfortable, BBS smooth shave with just 3 passes.
