Result: Amazing. I was a little rushed today due to a work phone call (and this post came late due to said work emergency) but the Skin Food rescued my irritated-due-to-shaving-too-quickly skin. I can't really put in words how much better than everything i've tried the skin food actually is, but it really does do wonders. The Gold Bug never disappoints, but it sure does look a little worn. Well where to start. The razor was freshly honed by Robert,( thanks Robert!) and this thing took a great edge. One of the smoothest shaves i have felt. On top of it, the Lanolin Overload (thanks for the idea Glen!) is one of the best uberlathers i have ever tried. If anyone is a fan of uberlather, they need to try this one. The skinfood is always great too! Great Shave for a what is shaping up to be a great day!

You're welcome Matt...Thanks for the compliment. It was a pleasure practicing on your razor :D...I have maybe honed 3-5 razors in my short career straight shaving compared to the thousands Lynn, Max and Glen (and many, many others) have done. So in doing the Math, I know where I stand compared to the True Masters :bow...bottom of the food chain. But, I don't think I will go into the honing business...this is just something to keep me busy with my blades. Yours was an exception though :).

I am on the fence with that Musgo Real...smell turns me off. Will see...maybe one day, I'll give it a shot. Not today :)

The Pinots by these guys is really nice. it's oak aged, not steel barrel. You will see a distinct difference. Not all Pinots are created equal

BTW: I must say, that was quite a gutsy move putting your brush and razor on the sand...one little wind, you could run the risk of getting sand in brush and pivot area of razor (I imagine it wouldn't come off that easy).

Yes, I have taken some risks for the razor, brush and camera, putting them in the sand. I thought they worth it....

It has a 24mm knot and a 50mm loft. When I ordered the brush from Bernd at Shavemac, I told him I was looking for a DO1 brush with a natural horn handle that would work well with creams but could also handle soaps. This what he recommended and I could not be happier with the brush.

It's a 776 and gave me a nice shave this morning. The edge might could be dialed in a bit more, but it still was a nice shave.
