Great pics gentlemen!!
Yeah, well, he´s not one of the big names :). It´s guy in England, Martin, who does small batches, mostly of AS:s and ASB:s, but he decided to do a christmas special (a ASB is also included, but I don´t use that) this year, after his Grapewood AS cologne splash got good reviews. The soap is a clycerin based soap, but I´ve to use it more to get a good opinion of it. I love the splash though, it´s has a dry woody and very grapefruity scent that lasts, I think.
Excellent combo Frank :tu
Jason,
I bet you can't wait for spring/summer :p
Nice Otto :tu.
Mikael,
Great razor :tu. I have heard that the PB soaps are great. Does the later last long?
Great video maestro :tu. it's always good to see you in action
Great blade Bill :tu...I got mine in the mail a couple of days ago and will be taking it to the stones. How's the HBE soap working out? I see you are uber-ing it
Excellent Rene:tu
Simply fabulous. Nice looking blade Mark:nj
Thank you Robert! Well, I didn´t have the perfect lather day today and i really don´t know. I thought it was a tad weak, but I had forgotten to put down the brush in the scuttle before showering, so the brush wasn´t soaked :gaah:. I´ll report back soon, when I´ve had a proper go at it.
The French Connection
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Razor: 6/8" Thiers-Issard Historical "Rooster & Fox", Worked back, 1/4 Hollow, Round Point Brush: 24mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger Überlather: Martin De Candre Shave Soap + Glycerin Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Lavender, no alcohol) Post-Shave: NancyBoy Repleniishing AS gel Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-Free Moisturizer Cologne: Guerlain Habit Rouge Result: I got a sample of the "Martin de Candre" shave soap in the mail from Joe (aka, Harvitz81) yesterday. Thank you Joe :bow...I really, really like the scent of this thing. Absolutely fantastic. Say what you want about the French...but, they know their scents and soaps :tu. Even by itself, the soap produced a lather that was nothing short of excellent. And with this French soap, I instinctively had to use the Thiers-Issard (even though it's a Sheffield steel:rofl2:). The grind and size of this blade was a heavenly match with this soap. BBS shave for entire face in my usual 3 passes.

Have a great Wednesday gentlemen:tu.
I realize about your "not so perfect" lather, but I was merely pointing out what I had heard from others' experiences with this soap. I bet once you get the proper soaking going with the brush, it'll be a fine performer:rock:. I wiill look forward to your opinion on it maestro
