Thanks Robert. This was the first handle I've made out of acrylic, pretty easy to work with actually.
Cheers!

Hands down shave of the week. This razor also seems to be one of those that just gets sharper the more you shave with it. TOBS Eton College is fast becoming a favorite as well. The smell is a bit different at first but seems to grow on you after using it for a while.
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest Tubby 2, 26 mm super/silvertip two band
Razor: Warranted
Soap: Professor Blightly´s Grapewood
AS: Professor Blightly´s Grapewood
Strops Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :)
Wow, Neil has done a superb restoration of this razor. 200 years old and looks like new :). And the scales are out of this world, well done Neil!! A bit unfair to shave with this one after two days with super preminum razors (3 crosses and Gotta 120), but it holds it´s on right. Fidos new brush is a delight to use aswell, I actually kept on painting with the brush after I had enough lather, very soft and nice bristels! The handle is top notch work and hand turned in England this time. It´s a wider handle than on the Cubby 2 and that works better for me. Everything with this shave was A +, pro B:s soft wear was stellar aswell. Even the Derby blade for the head shave, was top notch after some hand stropping. :)

It comes from these guys Monster 1 x 6 Inch Acrylic Blanks pretty reasonably priced too I think, as long as you have the means to cut it. I'm looking forward to doing some more.

I finished up this Maher & Grosh 1/4 hollow last night and decided to hone up this Torrey "OUR BEAUTY" full hollow. Very little stubble today which make for a harder to achieve BBS. They delievered a very comfortable BBS shave in 2 passes. A couple touch up areas. But those are in the stubborn spots.

HAVE A WONDERFUL FRIDAY!!! Its raining here.
Good luck Oscar.
Young and finished. Talk about being between stuck between a rock and a hard place, LOL
Ahhhhhh...if only I knew how to bottle my formula of making people younger...I could become rich beyond the dreams of avarice, LOL
That is fantastic Tom...Can't wait to see the other 4. A Buddel-driven SOTD for next week (maybe). Congrats.
AMAZING razor Otto. The Ducks mean business.
Grant,
Congratulations on getting this beauty back in business. Coticules are nice stones once you have them figured out (kinda like women...they need the right touch, LOL)
Dude...This is SOTD (Shave of the day), not POTD (Pen of the day), LOL, LOL
Your fountain pen AD is starting to show and take over. Nice shave and pens Bill. Mont Blanc is absolutely top notch (my absolute favorites). I had a bunch of these in my younger days (a lot).
Great smelling creme
Wowwww Mikael. Beautiful blade and very nice brush. I am waiting for Peter to come out with more knot sizes and handle material...Soon
Meeeowww with a roar. Well done Jim
Rene,

Do you have my address?:w
:dropjaw: Sweet Torrey! One day .. I kind of like the other one too, I dunno, but it seems to be something special with it :rofl2:
This baby is a lot of bang for the buck. Relly! I love all of Peters brushes and they´re all very good value, however I´ve got two favourites - the first one he made and this Tubby 2. If you don´t have something close to a Chubby 2 in two band, you´ll kick yourself if you don´t buy the Tubby 2 when it comes out (again, I managed to get one of few without a logo, that he pre releesed). I got a Chubby 2 in super, but it´s very different from this one.

Robert my friend,
You can never bottle the formula,it is all in the pages here, you write good and make us smiling from ear to ear every time we read your response and that is rich.
Ahhh, the Crown Wing just reported to the Post Office while the Badger is going to have a nightmare tonite.

Razor: 6/8 Wacker
Lather: MWF + Frasers Polar Ice + Glycerin
Brush: Penworks 22mm Finest
Aftershave: RazoRock / Thayers / Boosters Polar Ice
Cologne: Tommy Bahama St. Barts
Pre-Shave: Hot shower Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger Razor: 6/8" Maestro Livi, Hollow, Round Point (Amboyna Burl scales) Strop: 45/55 (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather) Überlather: Godrej "Menthol Mint" Shave Creme _ Cella Crema di Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol) Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue Cologne: Acca Kappa Cedar EdC Results: This Livi delivers all the goods one has come to expect from a fabulous shave. What's more, she does it with class. The Godrej/Cella überlather was amazing. I had never tried this combination before, but the menthol kick and the moisturizing capacity of the Cella was out of this world (Highly recommended). And the Livi? Let's just say that the stubble was nothing more than yesterday's old news, history!

Another good one Blue :)
Woooahh Tom...Hold on to your horses buddy. I had already emailed him about it so you have to wait in line, LOL
I really like Peter's brushes...I only have the 2211, but own a few Chubbys too (two in 2-band variety). I will at some point (soon) consider another NF brush (maybe the Tubby2). I know he'll be doing different type handles, so I want to wait.
Thank you for your kind words Moonbeam...It means a lot. Enjoy the Crown Wing (I want pictures this time, LOL) and don't worry about the badger. She and the Crown will get along just fine.
Lovely photo Mark. Beautiful blade.
PS: I had missed that brush. Love the color of the handle. Very eclectic...Fabulous.
Forget the shave. I love the "Sabot"

Keeping it simple for my first test shave on this sweetie.. :D
Just got her in yesterday... http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...managnese.html
Late last night I ran her through the full Shapton progression using the same system of a very light slurry for the first 10 laps on each grit except the 30k which I used the 3-2-1 finish on... The results were predictable, giving the exact science of the Shapton hones and the silky smoothness of the Kama edges...
Combined, this gives a wickedly sharp edge, that shaves like an angels kiss on the face..
12 laps on CeOx this morning followed by 25/75 on an SRD Premium 1 stropped her in.
The lather was made on the face with that Col. Conk pure badger and some Williams.. A nice WTG pass and a XTG follow up and done...
I just got the new Bay Rum in from SRD yesterday "St.Lucia" a very clean light Bay Rum scent, can't really get a clove scent from it at all, a nice finish to a simple shave...

Razor: Apollo Mikron
Blade: Schick Plus Platinum
Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Trumper Violet (Tallow Version)
A/S: Three Crowns Violet aftershave Milk
A less than stellar shave today. The Apollo is a bit different from my other razors and this unfamiliarity led to a bit of razor burn. The Three Crowns ASM calmed things down nicely.
Str8: W&B, 2 stone honed by me after watching Glen's Video on You-tube (she's sharp and smooth),
Strop: 100 Laps on starshaving's Big daddy (My practice strop for 6 months), then finished with 40 laps on SRD 3inch, Long ENGLISH BRIDLE STROP (gift to myself for learning how to strop)
Brush: Vulfix 404 (a good Brush at a wonderful price)
Cream: Everest Russian SC, (All the Russian creams I've used so far have been excellent)
AS: Vintage English Leather AS Lotion, (very soothing and leaves your skin soft)
A while ago I read that it's too much to learn to hone, strop, and shave all at one time with a str8. So for over 6 months I've practiced stropping and honing, all while acquiring a number of str8's to play with. Todays shave was an accomplishment of over 6 months of practice and obsession. Today I had the best str8 shave (head and face) I've ever had, BBS almost. (other than 2 small areas on my jaw line). I would not have been able to get to here if it wasn't for all the great information, videos and tips that are shared by my shave brothers on the forums. (TSD and SRP)
Thank you, Gentlemen; and have a great shave.

Great shot and blade Chris. Hope you had a good snow day. A day off does wonders to the state of one's mind.
Thanks Fonti. She's a keeper alright :)
Bruce,
This is one classy EJ razor. Very classy
Gorgeous Kama Glen and a silky smooth shave
Teiste,
Nice vintage shot with some wonderful hardware
Thank you maestro. How's the badger behaving with the lather and the new Crown TI?
Thanks Grant
Sorry about the burn Phil...Could it have been the blades? I bet she'll be tamed in no time
David,
A BIG Kudos to you. Well done. Congratulations on several fronts:
- Honing (BIG accomplishment...it gets better and addictive)
- Your new strop (The Bridle is a fabulous one)
- Participating in SRP and more specifically SOTD. We love having you here.
- That's a fine str8 you've got there. Looking forward to seeing others.
Excellent SOTD Frank. Are the flowers from the wedding centerpiece or corsage?
