Max that Otto D. is a fine looking tool love the metal fret work on the scales very classy

eleblu05 I also think that a interesting design for a blade and +1 on how it handles when shaving the way its made it looks like it should fit the hand rather well

eTom Like the TI that shouderless design is one of my favorite types of blade and with the extra deep curve at the jimp I bet it handles like a charm

Fonthunter love the patina on those old blade

Kalerolf that is a nice looking razor I never heard of that brand that is not new is it? It looks good enough to be. Rainy starts to Sundays are nice sometimes slows the pace lets one ease into the day.

My skin is very sensitive to certain chemicals. Over the years I learned to let the skin rest a few days when I put something on it that inflames it. Remember, the largest human organ is the skin.

I felt like a great shave tonight so I picked an Uber that came highly recommended (thanks Robert) and a razor I knew would make me happy.
This was my first Uber with the double Tabac combo, and I was so impressed I had to stop half-way to take a photo of it. So thick and creamy and slick, and still just as good by the time I got to the 3rd pass as it was on the first.
Result: 3 passes, absolute BBS.
We're going back to Sydney for a few days and I'm just taking the DE, but I should get time to check in.

Thanks, I don´t know much abpout chemicals, but I know the skin approx have 5000 Ohm in resistense (if you´re not all wet or something else) :)

First shave with my new Prima Klang, which is also my very first *professionally* honed razor (as I'm just learning). Shave was fantastic, much more enjoyable than a DE or my feather straight. Couldn't be happier.

Prep: shower and hot towel
Razor: Wacker Antik 6/8 blond horn scales
Strop: Kanayama; 40+ strokes on the leather
Brush: the see-through kind, a German brand (?)
Soap: C+E Nomad

The Course: 3 passes and some fine-tuning.
Desert: steamy hot and ice cold towels.
Aftershave: Nivea Balm
Result: oh yeah!

Back in '74 when I was reporting to the Royal Military Academy,among other few good things my late father gave me was this Gillette,he wanted me to have a good shave everyday.Not familiar with the settings,the blade always skinned my chin and upper lips and I decided to 'soldier-boxed' it until today,that is after 13 years leaving the service.
Last week's SotD, our senior member Stroker posted a #9 Gillette and that sent me to my old apartment to look for my soldier-box.I spent 4 days going after every boxes but in vain and I thought I have lost it.Today while doing some cleaning,I found a pouch somewhere in the store and on opening it I found the Gillette,still operational and looking good.Could care much how the pouch went out the box but I am veryyyyy happy indeed.
Gentlemen ,this Gillette now recalled as my travelling buddy will always be cared for.

Have not shaved since Friday and at this point my beard is very tough. First time using the Cella shave cream and to be honest, it did not thrill me. I'll fiddle around with the amount of water I use but it seemed thin compared to the others. I am thrilled that in the box of stuff with the Cella was the Acca Kappa.
Shave was close as agreed to by the warden during the BBT. The razor pulled a bit so it needs to go back on the stones. Last week was a series of long drives and long days so I went shopping and picked up some stuff I wanted.
The package with the Cell and AK also arrived with a DE blade sample and some other stuff. I picked up a couple Gillette DE razors and a new bottle of Scotch to sample.

Today, I feel better and relaxed. Weekends seem to be getting shorter.

Great find Moonbeam! That baby will clean up real nice and look brand new with a little metal polish for the head and some toothpaste and brush on the handle. They are excellent shavers and you will love it! What is so cool about them is you can adjust it to whatever level of aggressiveness you want. Your beard is probably a lot tougher now than when you went into the Royal Military Academy. (I know mine is!) :D Enjoy it my friend!

I really wish my pictures were better. The TR Cadmen on the right had the blade restored by Max. Awesome job. The scales are original and gorgeous. I honed it a few weeks ago. Not quite there. I honed up the Numax on friday night. She came out very nice. Both were up to C12K. So they are going on the Nakayama. BBS but a few tiny irritation spots.

Broke out some of the new haul stuff this morning. I like the Cattaraugus Cutlery blade but had awful luck with the Lavanda cream. I smells nice (it's the first lavender product I've tried) but I really messed up making the lather...I barely got any lather at all and what I got was thin at best. I thought the brush may have been too dry so I kept adding water as I was bowl lathering to no avail. I even tried to add more cream, but that didn't help very much. I was forced to use some Molle brushless cream for my second pass. I still ended up with a decent shave, however. I like the Speick balm and went with the Floris Vetiver because it always does the trick. And today will be better than yesterday.

Another great shave. The Harris shave sticks work really well for me and I am thoroughly enjoying my newly acquired Wilkinson Sticky. This was my 4th shave with the Sticky and all have been superb. Today's weather is a bit blustery by Southern California standards and the Arlington aftershave milk was just the ticket.

Sorry about the lasting irritation from MWF, but glad to hear you're trying the Cella...so, hopefully you'll know soon if your skin is OK with this soap (she also contains tallow).

Welcome to SOTD. Wonderful Wacker. Those Antik's are some of nicest Wacker has ever made. As far as the brush, it's hard to say without seeing the whole thing, but it could be a Semogue or an H. Thäter.

Sorry you had bad luck with the Cella. Personally, I have found that this is one of those soaps that needs to be whipped a little longer than most, especially if you are using hard water. I also load my brush twice and transfer to bowl each time. Once you get the hang of her, I am sure she will razzle and dazzle you. Of course, you can not go wrong with AK. BTW; Cella/AK combination also works wonders.

PS: I vote to have 5 day weekends and 2 day work days ;)

I love the blades, especially the Cadmen. Just be patient with her. Some blades do not easily give in, but once you get her edge dialed in, I am sure she will be one of your best shavers. not to mention that you'd feel incredibly satisfied with your effort

Congratulations on the new haul Nathan. Very nice, but sorry to hear about the lather. Floris has some very good products, although I have not tried their EdT, just the shaving creme and soaps

On to the Cella. No worries on that, I don't give up so easily. One thing I have learned is that no two razors, shave creams, scuttles, etc.... are the same. Each one has a personality of their own. I'm certain I'll develop the lather with the Cella in short time. I very much like the scent.
