Thanked: 346Well, I've only had it for about 6 months now, but it's an excellent soap brush which is what I got it for. It's a style 1 small and is officially 22x48, though mine is has a 21mm knot. It appears to be hand-tied as there's no evidence of a plug, and hair loss has been almost nonexistent -- only three hairs, two the first day and one about a week ago.
The medium or large would be better suited for creams, but the small brush handles the little wooden soap bowls from Harris and Truefit&Hill without slopping lather everywhere. The badger is in Rooney's "finest" grade, roughly equivalent to High Mountain White or Manchurian grades from other makes, and it looks more like vintage silvertip than anything else I've seen. It's a stiff, dense little brush, partly because it's so short I guess. The tips are soft so it's not prickly.
I'm planning on getting a bigger one (probably a style 3 small) in finest later this fall for use with creams and the Moss scuttle, hot cream isn't really much fun in Houston summer it's more of a winter thing. Last winter I used a Dovo brush for creams, but it lost a few hairs every day. I much prefer the Rooney, this little thing is built like a tank and just oozes quality.
