Wednesday
Pay day, which means a carton of Henninger German Lager:beer1:
I really should be at the gym instead of sitting in front of a lap top drinking but hey, maybe tomorrow?
Considering putting a stupid number of Australian Native flower pictures from a 1950’s book on the bedroom wall now I’ve decorated (in frames). I mean a STUPID number; like, 50? It’ll cover the imperfections in the wall (my house was built in the 30’s as a ‘shack’ ). The background to this picture is one of those prints.
Anyway, Barry Burrell did his work today (and very well too I must add, as always - he’s going for Employee of the Month I’m sure) along with Miss Macca Root and Mrs Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar (Master Proraso Pre-Shave lent a hand too). Miss Macca Root is, how should I say; 'friendly' in the workplace. I'm sure her and Barry are 'co-habitating'. Mrs Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar (in the true British fashion) is, of course, aghast. The balm position was noticeably left vacant, the whereabouts of W Hazel Balm and Pablo Proraso (uncle of Master P) being unknown. Management believe there may be 'personal' issues due to 'alcohol content' in regards to W Hazel and understands Pablo went to the markets for fresh fish and bread.
The group worked WONDERFULLY as a team though; differences, passions and vacancies aside. Full marks everyone!

Whatever floats your boat, right?
Today's TI as usual was very, very good.
Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Le Tuft, w Simpson knot
Razor: C V Heljestrand no: 4
Soap: Nannys French Lavender
AS: Prof Blightly's Woodgrape
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
This blade's soooo good, maybe not one of the older and more fancy Heljes or even very large (11/16), but still it's one of my top shavers! :D

... I know this is for razors, but I got such a nice shot of coffee this morning:

This photo was taken nearly a year ago but it never got used. I remember taking it when we were living down at Ronald McDonald House in Sydney.
Man 2011 is flying by so fast...
Location: Coffs Harbour Australia
Strop: Illinois 835
Brush: Comoy Badger
Uber: Proraso (White), Faulding Cream, Glycerin
Razor: Custom Gotta 11/16
Astringent: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: Nivea Replenishing
Result: Just a lazy 2 passes tonight. The Uber was fantastic but I think the Gotta would benefit from a touch up.
Still a damn fine shave though.

Thanks for all the inspirational posts and pics boys. Keep 'em coming.

Yeah, that's a really nice, soft touch on that picture. Really cool. I like the way the brush bristles are almost glowing. And the patina and the SHAPE of that razor is, well, astonishing. I may soon use my 1950's Rolleicord III Medium Format camera with the 'Rolleinar' (a close up lens) for a few SOTD photos, I think that with Ilford HP5 400ISO B&W or Velvia 50 slide film my razors would really shine. LOVE the cool photos here, there's a few of you guys (I won't say who) who I think (IMMHO) are really, really good. Like I said before, you all work in Advertising, don't you?
