Wednesday
Sorry I haven’t posted a SOTD for a while, but I had nothing really meaningful to say and I’ve been a little busy, with children’s birthdays and getting ready for Christmas, etc.
I’ve really enjoyed a few posts on the forum recently; mainly about scrambled eggs (you may know what I’m referring to) and the helpful hints I received in response to my post on ‘vendors getting their act together’.
This morning’s shave was not TOO bad; a WTG and ATG with the Wade and Butcher. I browsed through Maxi’s gallery last night and felt quite proud to see my razor there! It would be so good to have the skills of guys like Maxi and Baldy; the restorations I see here are truly amazing. I see a new TV show in the making; ‘Pimp My Blade’...
Gotta learn a bit more about honing (was amused by the ‘discussion’ on You Tube between a particular ‘cutlery’ guy and someone else on honing techniques) to get my blades up to scratch. I think I need to find a honemiester in Australia. I’d like an opinion on my edges and then a fix up of a couple of them. I also need to concentrate on saving up for the next razor, and STICK to it instead of getting sidetracked with Bay Rum, Creams, Soaps, Clubman, etc.
The Body Shop Macca Root (1st tub) is almost all gone. Excellent product. I keep scooping out too much forgetting how WELL it EXPLODES! If you haven’t tried this, do yourselves a favour (as Molly would say; Aussies will understand; poor fellow; hope he’s OK...).
