Dovo Best Quality 6/8
Menu-U Boar brush
Tabac
Master Bay Rum
Drakkar Noir
I actually shaved this morning before Church, but we had our youngest two daughters baptized this afternoon so I'm just getting around to posting now. Great shave with the Dovo this morning! BBS in 2.5 passes (just did the jaw, neck, and chin on the last pass). It's almost 12 hours after the shave and I still have very little stubble. The Master Bay Rum and the Drakkar Noir have been my Sunday favorite for some time now!

A close comfortable shave, this Dovo is awesome. My 1st use of English Fern and not 100% successful, oddly the lather was exiting the brush from the base in a way that I don't usually find. I think this soap may be best suited to bowl lathering than face lathering. I shall persist though as having palm lathered to get the right consistency it was great.
I made the scales for a good friend for Xmas. He's a big hockey player. I got my hands on an old hockey stick and it turned out to be pretty good scale material. Got the razor honed...finally and took her for a run "around the rink!"
Made an Uberlather from MWF and TOBS Sandalwood.....good stuff!

Brush: Vie-Long Horse
Soap/Creme: Arko
Razor: Gillette Old
Blade: Gillette Goal
Pre: Shower & glycerin soap
Post: Witch Hazel
Hair Groom: just the conditioners from wildroot Shampoo
Result: The Arko and vie-long horse made a great lather together, once again. It really was especially rich and protective. it remained slow to make, but with results that really were first rate. The Gillette Goal in the actual Old style seemed a little better, but still was a pretty middling blade, especially by the end, where it was tugging quite a bit on my atg pass. I've had decent results with the blade in other razors, but it has disappointed pretty thoroughly in my open combs.

Birthday Wishes to Zephyr and Kalerolf:beer2::beer2:
Good Morning,
I'm running around trying to pack a lot in at the moment, only managing to get a shave every other day. It was a pleasure to catch up with this weeks posts.
Prep: Run, Shower
Strop: TI Paddle Strop
Brush: Thater SRD Edition.
Cream: Nivea
Razor: Dovo Master's
AS: TOBS, Collection 74, Victorian Limes.
I don't like the unshaven feel when I miss a day, but the compensation is there when you finally get round to it. A little like wearing tight shoes, so that you can look forward to taking them off.
Have a Great Christmas Week

Tonight was my first shave with this razor, and I think it may be the best edge I've ever put on a razor.
However tonights beard was just 24 hours growth, I'll wait till I test it against 3 days of growth before I officially call it.
The 3 pass shave was an absolute pleasure, left me feeling BBS and very happy.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest, 2201
Razor: Max Sprecher
Soap: GFT Sandalwood
AS: Proraso
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
First go with this soap and I like it and I had read up on it and it was harder than other soaps to lather and I still can get it better, I think. First time ever I flooded my enormous SWK scuttle as well, since I loaded like mad + had water on the soap for a minute or two. But what about the razor you're wondering by now - it was AWESOME! :D

What a great way to start this holiday week! The Toyo was smooth and sharp. I was BBS on all but the most challenging places after a single pass. Just did a few touch ups and left it with that. My face feels great, and I smell wonderful too. Everything is starting out on the right foot here!

Cut the moustache off yesterday. So today was only about the second time shaving my upper lip in the last 15 years or so and definitely the second time with a straight razor on the upper lip. No blood so far but it just kind of feels awkward. SWBO digs the baby face look but I sure can't say I'm a big fan.
Did mine about 5 years ago GI...the wife refused to let me grow it back! (SWMBO an all that stuff)
I am usually busy with family stuff on the weekends so do not look at the posts until Monday! Sure is great to see all the gear displayed in such superfluous fashion.

First shave since the 15th! Was rocking the scrappy dirty look lol! Was in a hurry so only a 1 pass today. Found out I had some warping on the razor blade. Gave it some special attention on the Coti and got the best shave I have ever had out of it!
This morning was the smoothest shave I have had since I started using the straight! I had one small nick on the cheek it barely bled and closed with cold water splash.
Sorry no Pic today
Jon
Monday Monday....
So, after yesterday's less-than-stellar shave with my self-honed Morley (the learning curve reminds me of Alpe d'Huez i.e S T E E P) I went for a gentle two-pass shave today:
Razor: Boker King Cutter 6/8
Brush: Badger
Cream: Trumper Coconut
After: Thayer's / Aqua Velva Ice Blue / Nivea ASB
My face feels much better today. Still a bit red and sore from yesterday - but healing. I'll re-hone the Morley and see if I can get a better edge before I try it again.
Barry
Didn't have a chance to post yesterday's shave due to the chaos that are my kids. Our 5 month old got his 1st cold and has pretty much has given us a run for our money :(
