Have a great day everyone.
Monday
What A day! Eight hours at the hospital with Bailey, watching as they tried to get a vein, getting his port accessed, back and forward for tests, sitting around for hours between blood tests. I must say it's an excellent hospital though, we are so lucky to have it. Good thing was he’s had his tube (that went up his nose into his stomach) removed. He’s starting to look ‘normal’, his eyebrows are even growing back! Out there, in the distance, way, way over there, is a light at the end of the tunnel that I can just see; God willing and with God’s strength and Grace...
I took a day off JaNorton to use the Burrell Top Flight to remind myself how a sharp razor feels; the Burrell has always been my sharpest razor; I love it; it’s so mean and wicked in its sharpness and its pointyness, and I love the wings logo; even if it is faded a little. The edge told me that the two I’ve honed for JaNorton are pretty good. Not as sharp as the Burrell, but we don’t always WANT sharp, do we? Sometimes we want just-slightly-less-than-sharp, and more smooth...
The Faulding Shave cream (I think it costs like 2 bucks 'fitty' cents) was alright, but I want to keep using it and tweaking it (without additives, just the H2O content, etc) to see how good I can get it. I reckon, with a bit of love, it can get to be as good as a ‘top end’ cream.
The theme of the photo mirrors the fact that I’m thinking of the ‘old’ days lately, the old Army days. This is due to my 21 year old son deciding he’ll beat all my personal bests, most of them from my army (i.e. fit) days; which include 25 chinups. I think he’ll beat me on the 5k run time (only 20:59) very soon and the pushups but it’ll take him a while to be able to do 25 chinups; which in my (humble) opinion would be quite a challenge. The Faulding's Shave cream was one of two you could buy at the canteen at the Australian Army Recruit Training Battalion in the 80’s, and the Field Message notebooks pictured are from field exercises years later when I was a Sergeant in Charge of a SAM; they make interesting reading now all these years later...
Hope you all have a good week. Be good, be healthy and be happy...
PS, sorry for the long post, I know I go on a bit, but I actually look forward to writing my SOTD, more than I do the picture taking aspect... :-)

I love the look (and sound) of that razor.
I sort of pretend I may be more French than I really am from time to time, as my grandmother was French...I'm one of those people who generalise racial traits quite outrageously, so of course, French = Chic...
I've gotta get a French razor; maybe I should get one instead of the Revisor I'm lusting after? There's just TOO many razors, it's not fair!
No Shave Today
