This's the first cream or soap I get the chills off, _strong_ menthol! Maybe not the most refined scents, more like industry smelling Arko kind off stuff, but good stuff if that scent works for you (like me) :D

Have a nice day, gents!

Friday
Well, officially on holidays and it’s BUCKETING down with rain outside. I would normally use a more crass term but you are gentlemen.
The shave this morning was an Oh My Goodness shave. All the ingredients, both hardware and software, I’d used before. However, it just all came together. I took Mephisto’s advice (gotta remember to respond to his PM) and face lathered with the Mme Scodioli soap (I love the abbreviation ‘Mme and can’t stop using it when I refer to this gifted vendor of soaps).
I added no water after ‘soaking’ the soap (a little dribble of hot water left on top as I showered) and still shook my brush ‘the regulation’ five times but added no other water. The water I’d placed on top of the soap puck in the bowl was discarded from the soap before I loaded the brush. Worked a charm; thanks Mephisto! I used an Astra blade (as I generally do) in the Mühle. I was enjoying the lather and the shave so much I did THREE passes! I NEVER do three passes!!! I don’t think I’ve EVER DONE THREE PASSES!!!!. I DON’T KNOW WHY I’M SHOUTING BUT I’M EXCITED!!!!! And AFTERWARDS I could feel nary a hair! Nary a one!
Do you like the word ‘nary’? It’s nice, isn’t it? Not as nice as ‘cellar door’, which was J R R Tolkien’s favourite word (it’s actually two words, of course, but due to the fact he gave us Leaf by Niggle, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (among other gifts) I shall forgive that numeracy error). ‘Cellar door’ does have a very nice ring to it. Tolkien of course invented a fairy (or ‘faery’) language, and he very much enjoyed making words that SOUNDED nice. I remember in Aldous Huxley’s Chrome Yellow the protagonist, young Dennis, who writes prose (much to Mr Scogan’s disgust) and poems, says he very much liked the word ‘carminative’ (until he finds out what it means)…
"One suffers so much," Denis went on, "from the fact that beautiful words don't always mean what they ought to mean. Recently, for example, I had a whole poem ruined, just because the word 'carminative' didn't mean what it ought to have meant. Carminative—it's admirable, isn't it?"
As I was saying, the shave was most excellent, bodacious even.
Music for the day was Johnny Cash. I’ve been watching and listening to Johnny’s rendition of ‘Hurt’ (a Nine Inch Nails song) over and over and over and over again. I’m listening to it now.
The whole nicety of the day was topped by a fabulous workout and biceps that continue to do what biceps are supposed to do when worked upon (i.e. grow) as evidenced by the second photo.
Be good, everyone, and check out Johnny’s ‘hurt’ video on Youtube, it’s quite old but it’s a really powerful song…

You know what? I'd make the moustache narrower, not quite like a pencil moustache but still narrow, and I'd keep the soul patch (below the bottom lip), and I'd get rid of the hair on the chin. But I'd make the soul patch more oblong than triangular...
Congrats. My 25th is on the 4th of July. Independence day I understand. Independence day? Yeah. Right.
Prep: 25 minute run, cool shower
Razor: Torrey Barber Tip
Brush: Semogue 2000
Soap: Clearly Natural Honeysuckle
AS: Nivea Double Action Balm/ Skin Bracer
Finish: A pipe full of Prince Albert and a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon on the lanai
Results: Great shave! I'm really warming up to the late night shaves. This soap is actually pretty remarkable. It's not even a purpose built shaving soap but being a glycerin soap it does seem to do a passable job in the shaving soap role. It's not L'Occitane Cade or Mitchell's Wool Fat by a long shot but it has a decent smell to it and provides a nice lather without much effort. I like it.
Carl, you look like you're having way too much fun, sounds like a great shave and some great tunes. Cheers mate!

Thank you, Sir. I have an LP from Mr Cash; Town hall party, 1959. Live. The people at the party seem to be having and extraordinarily good time, and the photo on the front of the folk-dancing 50 year olds is really cool. I've got to investigate Johnny some more. Clearly he has had some sort of battle, some inner demons; judging by the video of 'Hurt' and his most recent album I have (2006). Though he seems to have been in to Gospel music for decades. I'm not even sure, as I type this, if he is still with us; I do hope so, but if he's not; I think he'd be OK with that...I'm definitely taking CD 1 of the album I THINK is called House of Cash camping with me...

Hi Carl i've restored so many Sheffeild Kropp's in the last year you wouldn't believe it, they are a very popular razor in the UK, everyone i've restored made excellent shavers, Neil is a good bloke and sells some really nice razors. PS look forward to seeing Carl's Kropp SOTD.:tu

Great shave today! It was my second shave with my newly acquired german slant. It is my first slant and so far I like it. The aggressiveness seems to be counteracted by the extremely light weight of the razor. Also using my Dovo Silver Steel.

No shave today. Shopping with my son, and to the Asian Markets for lunch. I'm not entirely sure what we had to eat. Pork OR Chicken, with some rice things like they have in the Pokémon cartoons. I got a seal for my Mocca pot (wrong size unfortunately) and some Fuji 50 slide film for the Rolleicord medium format camera. Joel got a Mitchell & Ness Charlotte Hornets snap back hat. It looks like a baseball hat to me except it cost 50 bucks.
