Thumbs up Sun July 15th - Sat July 21st

    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: Gebr. Geldmacher 86
    Brush: Simpson Polo 10
    Cream: GFT Sandalwood
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB: AOS Sandalwood

Finally some cool down and rain halfway the month of July. It is monsoon season here after all. With that in mind it was time for some earth warming sandalwood.

In short. A perfect combination from start till finish. I'm ready to face a brand new day.

Wishing y'all a superb new week.

    Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
    Brush: Comoy Badger
    Soap: L'Occitane Cade
    Razor: Kropp 6/8
    Astringent: Thayer's W/H
    Balm: Nivea Replenishing
    A/S: Old Spice
I've posted this Kropp many time here on SOTD but this is its debut in new scales (More pics here)
After the whole re-scaling process the blade didnt have much of an edge left on it. So I took it down to the King 1k, then finished on my new $10 BBW/Coti natural combo. Going from slurry to clear water on the BBW side then straight water on the Coticule.
I'm only just getting to know this stone, but tonights shave tells me I've got a great stone on my hands.
3 passes for a beautiful BBS Sunday night shave.

Here's a photo of my son Jacky today playing with a home-made Ben 10 board game I made last night.
Just a few dollars in material, a couple of hours out of my Saturday night, and he absolutely loved it, he's been playing it all afternoon.
Its been just over 2 months since he stopped Chemo. He is doing well, and is more of a hand full than ever.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Razor – James H. Flagg, French frameback
    Brush – SABA
    Soap – MWF
AST – ALUM Osma block & Thayers Lavender witch hazel
    EDT – Vierges et Toreros

    Good morning.
That's great news about your son Grant I am glad for you. Today a fine French frame back was put into action. A very nice shave was the result. We’re bracing for another round of heat with severe drought.

That one is lovely, Tom. I was beginning to think you'd sold all of your other blades to pay the ransom on your Maxtom!

First weekend off since the mid-June. Did a whole lot of nothing. A special patient gave me a vintage Dubl Duck brush a few months ago. I had it restored/re-knotted and have been looking for a "matching Dubl Duck" razor since that time. Found what looked to be a nice Satinedge. It arrived Friday and I thought I would give it a try this morning. Sanitized it yesterday, stropped it on ChromOx pasted balsa x 30, followed by diamond pasted felt x 30, then latigo leather bench top x 80.

    Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Pre: Hot shower, Nivea face wash, Nivea face scrub
    Soap: Proraso green
Brush: Restored vintage Dubl Duck "Barber's Brush -- For Professional Use" with silver tip badger
    Scuttle: SWK XL
    Razor: Dubl Duck Satinedge
Post: Thayer's Witch Hazel, Nivea Post Shave Balm

Result: The Satinedge handled three day's growth without any difficulty! Two passes, no nicks, no blood, CCS!!!

The Satinedge was a great shaver. Will definitely be in the regular rotation. Have a great week everyone!
