Before I share todays shave I wanna tell you a little story of my mother in law and my wonderful wife:
Yesterday my MIL phoned me and said she had an old cabinet she wanted to get rid of and wondered if my wife and I was interested in it, I told her I'd come take a look at it after work today. When my day was over I had completely forgotten about the cabinet and went straight home, the first thing my wife says is "Have you looked at the cabinet already" :gaah: I was tired after a busy and quite shitty day at work, so honestly the last thing I wanted to do was to get back in the car, but I had promised I'd come over, so I did....and I'm glad I did, the cabinet was beautiful and I got my own ideas immediately :hmmm:
I put the cabinet in the car and went home, SWMBO looks at the cabinet and exclaims :"Wow, it's beautiful, where shall we put it?" Darn! Well, I have to try and goes on: "Uh, honey..... I was thinking......uh..maybe..uh...well, my shaving stuff would fit perfectly in there.....I could get everything into one cabinet instead og the three I use now....?" Were she to my surprise responds: "Sure!" :y
So here it is, my new shaving cabinet:
(The only thing that worries me a bit now is what I have to do in return...)

First time I try the Proraso Pre Shave, not sure how much it added to the shave, but the light menthol cooling felt nice.

Awesome Rune! What a perfect cabinet.
It's the way you asked her and I sure she thought well now finally I can have room in my cabinets in the bathroom
WOW Rune! That is a beautiful cabinet.
Thanks guys, I'm very happy with it, and SWMBO thought it looked good on our bedroom wall aswell, what more can a man ask for?
Oh, I almost forgot the really cool thing about it: According to the label on the back it is made in Eskilstuna :)

Nice photo, what lens are you using?
Thursday
Prep: Hot Shower, Proraso pre-post creme
Brush: Thater 4125-2
Scuttle: G5
Soap: MNS Lemongrass Eucalyptus
Razor: Genco Fluid Steel
Post: Proraso AS, AOS ASB unscented
Result: This Genco was a gift from my youngest son and when I got it there were issues. I really didn't think this could be made shavable, but figured to give it a try. It has heavy hone wear, starts at 11/16 heel, to 1/2 at the toe, but I really like the smiling shape of the blade, it seems to "fit the face" so to speak. So I went to work and set a good bevel on the 1k, progressed up through the Naniwa 12k and Voila! Smooth, silky smooth. These blades have a well deserved reputation as great shavers and this lived up to the legend this morning! 3 passes and CBS, off to work and looking forward to the holiday weekend (only one more day left!).
Have a Great Thursday Gents!
Prep: Lukewarm Shower
Razor: Lecran Cutlery

Soap: Arko shavestick

It doesn't get much more rice and beans than this. What it lacked in fancy, it made up for in comfort and closeness. Very nice shave.

Razor: For Barbers Use" Wostenholm "Washington Works" ~ 1850
Soap: Cella
Mug: porringer
Brush: Horsehair
Aftershock: Alum block
Splash: Bay Rum
Simple and fast shave today. No weepers and the razor has remained sharp for well over a year. Good steel. One of my first rescales in horn. The Royall bottle is from way back and still has the tiny crowned cork as a seal. The Bay leaf/laurel has long been known as an antiseptic and anti fungus. It fit right into the British three way trade. Africa for slaves, Bermuda for rum and to England for profit taking.
