Thanks for the save!
Thank you.
He was known to invest in very nice things even though he was a fairly common man. I was surprised to find it was so well cared for. It functions VERY well!

... Discovered my Thiers Issard need to go to the pasted strop a few more times, a little tugging, ended up going back to my Dorko. Topped it off with Clubman Original and a Hobgoblin beer.[/QUOTE]
Hobgoblin... Now your talking!!!! A very fine beer!

Shower w/ Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap & Shampoo, Noxema
Castle Forbes Preshave
Madras Razor
Semogue 830 Boar Brush
Pré de Provence Shaving Soap
King 1k, Chinese Natural
Vintage Blades 3' Black Latigo Strop 40/60
Album: Kid A by Radiohead
Results: Not a perfect shave, but it was enjoyable. Loved Radiohead whirling in the background as I sliced through the one day old stubble. Motion Picture Soundtrack was winding down the album as I was finishing the shave. There was some irritation. I am still experimenting with the 'one stone hone' until I get the Norton 4k/8k back. The Madras is acceptable at its job or I do an acceptable job with it-not sure which one yet...

I also love the razor and the way you cleaned it up but left the patina.
Maybe we should have a STP thread; a Save the Patina Thread, where we post photos of old razors with nice interesting patina?
Thank you, sir.
'twas fine experience.
Regarding the patina. They take many years and stories to form...and a few minutes with abrasives to remove;)
