Thumbs up Sun September 09th - Sat September 15th

    Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
    Razor: J.A. Henckels 'Torpedo'
    Brush: SRP LE 2011
    Soap: MDC
    Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
    ASB: Aqua Velva
    AS: Aqua Velva

I've had this razor for quiet a while now and during all these years I have never come across another one, I've tried researching what the Torpedo had in common with J.A. Henckels but it's been a total mystery just like the Henckels numbering. Either way, it's a terrific shaver, just like all other vintage J.A. Henckels. Great stuff to boot. MDC, Thayers, Aqua Velva,... A pure, crisp, refreshing shave.

Let's get rolling for the new week. Have a great one, gents.

Default Week of September 9 SOTD - Saturday

    Anniversary Shave

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 23mm Simpson's "Chubby 1", 2-band Super Badger
Razor: 6/8" SOLGEN "Real Japanese Hollow Ground", Truncated French point/angled Spike Point
Honing (Refresh): 6 laps on CrOx leather
Strop: 5/35/55 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave Pegasus III Cordovan Latigo / Horsehide leather)
Überlather: Tabac Shave Creme + Tabac Shave Soap + Glycerin
    Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel
    After Shave Splash: Tabac AS
    Cologne: Tabac EdT
Results: Today, I decided to go all out with Tabac. This stuff is some of the best creations in the shaving world . The shave was marvelous as was the Solgen, but my state of mind was anything but . As of last night's business dinner that we hosted, I felt queasy and sure enough today, I was sporting a full blown headache, a 101ºF fever and I was out of commission. What makes this worse is that today marks our 5 year anniversary, but I was in no condition to do something, especially after my mom called and informed me that dad's car finally gave out and died. Dad was freaked out a bit, so dragging my carcase, I drove to their place and took him car shopping (which he likes) all day. We both really liked the 2012 Buick Regal or Buick Lecrosse...now mom and dad have a decision to make and hopefully by Monday, they will have a new car. The family will be voting tomorrow during our family get together (that is, if I can make it).

Have a GREAT Saturday/Sunday gentlemen . I am off to bed to rest.

    Cheers,
    Robert
