At first we were at a Vistapoint ... open pit mine (brown coal) Schleenhain near Deutzen. In the first picture you can see a tilted shovel excavator. The accident was on August, 28th. We visited another attraction. Ferropolis near Graefenhainichen. Here you can see some historical shovel excavators. At this place there are also rock concerts...amazing place, I think.

So many incredible razors showcased today... my entry is giong to seem positively pedestrian!

Last time was the Clauss 6/8 round; today I decided it would be nice to follow up with the 6/8 square.

A few days of not shaving led me to the Scheönburg which I don't use very often, though I don't know why. It's a great blade and always gives me a great shave. The Pre de Provence is one of my favorite soaps and never fails to produce a great lather. Today's shave was one of the best I've had in a long time both in terms of the process as well as the result. I'm a firm believer that the journey is more important than the destination anyway...and while it is hard to say it (since yesterday I spoke to my son who is in Jerusalem and also yesterday we took home a rescue cat) today will be better than yesterday.

Carp on the fly, now I've used floating dog biscuits to catch carp but never a dry fly, great fun I would imagine, those carp sure can give you a nice fight.

I don't use dry flies, for me the streamers imitating small crayfish work well, the carp is the truck of the rivers where I fish,...the fight can last for 15 minutes.....and I use #6 rod & line and a 3x tippet, but the carps are so strong....they always test my backing knot

Carp are a sport fish in Europe, and I catch them on lures and live bait on Pennsylvania's Allegheny River pretty often while going after other species. You're right though; they tend to be targeted with dough-based bait around here. My dad used to cast dough balls on his larger fly rod and pull in some beasts.

du212, you'd love Pittsburgh's three rivers for carp, as fishermen rarely target them here. We frequently see fish over a meter long.
