A lovely two pass shave from the Fon, had to be a little careful as I have a very small cold sore just above my top lip but I managed without any problems.

Hot shower prep
Razor: 17mm WAPI (Poland)
Soap: LIDER (Poland)
Mug: soup cup
Brush: 24mm Home made silvertip
Aftershock: Alum block
Splash: Walgreens "Bay Rum" ~1950
My lovely and pleasant WAPI blade in acrylic scales is a treat to use and maneuver around my face. Exchanging the factory stainless steel scales for the acrylic was the difference between a good but cautious shave and a great shave. The lighter scales make the blade balance well for honing and are light enough for quick maneuvering while shaving. The LIDER cream is nicely protective and lubricious, I would say it allows my razor's spine to come up off my skin another few degrees. that makes for easier shavings on sharp radii below the planes of my face. It strikes me as funny how I have become attached to a few simple items and they find their way into most every shave. The soup cup is nice when I face lather or use a stick, I have it warm and can really fluff up my brush and add water when needed for the last pass.

Walgreens is now a large Pharmacy chain in the USA. It began in 1893 in Chicago, but really took off 1901 when he bought the company and renamed it. Here is a tale of their foundation and growth. Walgreens
