The razor is a stiff little shaver. Good shave today.

First shave with this razor - seems heavy (even for a 7/8), but was easy to control/use. Overall, a good first shave with this razor.
Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing - I know Dovo has the "Renaissance" which at $120 for a new 6/8 stainless with nice scales seems like it might do the trick.
I've seen lots of the Fridour's in 7/8 and 8/8, but never in 6/8 for some reason.
This is my only SS razor and it does have a different feel to it than my CS blades.

Search for "razor", it should turn up the 5/8 and 3/4 (aka 6/8) size henckels. 5/8 is $100, 6/8 is $150. Comes in a very nice aluminum fitted casket.
The 5/8 is also sold by Nordstroms, but they charge about as much as cutleryandmore charges for the 6/8.
It is interesting that the 5/8 isn't marked a Friodur but the 6/8 is. I assume it means the 5/8 isn't actually cryo treated, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't do this.
Thanks - at the risk of hijacking the thread, how do the Fridour and Dovo SS razors differ - as the Dovo 6/8 is a fair bit cheaper that the Fridour.
