Isn't it amazing how a slight adjustment in angle will make the difference between great and outstanding? Increased the angle slightly on my last pass and I am amazingly smooth and ready to face the day!

Wow, nice save, many hours work for sure!
Good morning y'all! Cedar fever is in full bloom in South Texas (our version of hay fever), and I'm moving sluggishly. Today I wanted to retry a lather setup that didn't fare very well for me last week, the SOC SE brush with DR Harris soap, as well as try out a new (to me) Gillette Tech DE razor I picked up at an antique store yesterday. For the lather, I followed some sound advice given to me last week following the poor lather, and voila, perfect lather! The shave also went well, and now I know what people mean when they refer to a DE as "mild" rather than aggressive. The Tech is definitely a mild shaver.
Prep - hot shower
Soap - DR Harris, Windsor
Brush - SOC SE
Razor - 1964 Gillette Tech, Weber bulldog handle, Merkur blades
Post - cold water, Kiehl's lotion
EDT - Creed, Millessime Imperial

Thanks for the kind words fellas :) I am almost certain this razor has had some edge taken out, but it was done properly and it still shaves very well. I only do 3 pass shaves, and only 3 or 4 times a week, and this razor is one of my best as far as retaining the smoothness till the very end.

Hot shower prep
Soap: NOS Lavanda
Mug: Two piece silver
Brush: Silver travel boar brush
Razor: Joseph Elliot, BEST SILVERSTEEL, “SOVEREIGN”1890’s

The Shave: Close and clean in two passes. The Lavanda is a cream I use seldom..and I don’t know why. It is a soothing and pleasant lathering and protective wonder. A slight hint of Menthol appears to my weak nose.
Today: -15ºC & sunny

Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Wade & Butcher 7/8 American Razor
Cream: T&H Trafalgar
A/S: Pinaud Lilac Vegasmell
Result: What a nice, smooth, and blood free shave. The edge on this old near wedge is amazing. I decided to give the Lilac Vegetal a try again. Last time I used it, my wife said it smelled disgusting, and I was smelling playdough all day, as well as a hint of pancakes and maple syrup. Well, I want to like this stuff, and I'm not sure why. I am working from home today, so I figure it's a good time to really splash it on, which I did. I did not point it out to the wife, and so far, no comments.
Have a good Thursday evening!

Friday
It's been DAYS since I posted a SOTD, I can't believe it! What's WRONG with me!?
Today's shave was with the De Pews which did a very fine job, thank you. A ratty razor but with a heart of gold.
The Arko shave stick was used simply because I felt sorry for it. It had gone all weird from being left in the shower for some time.
"Why did you leave it in the shower?" I hear you ask.
I thank you for asking and reply "Because I was washing my hair with it".
"Why were you washing your hair with it?" I hear you ask.
I thank you for asking and reply (after a bit of a think) "Because at times I like to".
"Why do you like to?" I hear you ask.
I thank you for asking (a little hesitantly; what? are you a cop or something?) and reply "Because it smells and feels very 'sanitising' at times".
"Why do you-"
"look" I say. "let's just leave it there, OK?" JEEZ, ya get the third degree round here :gaah:

I wanted a relatively quick shave this morning, because I have to leave early for a deposition. So, I reached for the DE. Of course, my wife "cleaned things up" a few months ago. Since that time, I've not been able to my R89. So I broke out the R41 and a new blade Birnando gave me while he was in town. It didn't take me long at all to remember that the R41 is not a quick DE to use. Less than 30 seconds into the shave my face looked like I'd been fending off Kirstie Alley from the last Krispy Kreme in town. But I pushed through for a two pass that, unfortunately, left my face beyond BBS in more than a few places. The blood has stopped, though, and I'm off to my deposition. Do you think anyone will notice the cuts???

Have a Great Friday Gents!
Prep - None
Strop - 3 inch bridle leather/hard felt
Razor - Modern Revisor shoulderless 6/8 with thumb notch
Brush - Simpsons QE II Jubilee Manchurian badger
Soap - Vitos Red
Post - Alum block followed with Thayers witch hazel
Wonderfully smooth and close cold water face lathered shave. This modern Revisor in their version of a shoulderless thunb notch design is one of my favourite blades. The only fly in the ointment, for me, is that the bottom of the notch is smooth and rounded making awkward for me to flip it when stropping. I would have much preferred a flat bottom with jimps. Takes and hold a very fine shaving edge so I won't complain too much. Hope everyone had as good a shave this morning.

[QUOTE=LegalBeagle;1102443] The blood has stopped, though, and I'm off to my deposition. Do you think anyone will notice the cuts???
QUOTE]
It depends. If you are the one taking the deposition, then you'll forget about it as you get into your cross examination, whereas the deponent will probably be intimidated by your hacked face. If the other attorney is taking the deposition, you'll be sitting there quietly for a quite a spell, thinking too much about the fresh cuts on your face, and wondering if the court reporter is afraid of you.
Not only will they notice it, the witness and their attorney will be appropriately fearful and reminded that you wield sharp objects when most others are sleeping. If the depo is videotaped and the witness is visibly horrified, you'll be able to refer back to it as the day that ______ (insert metaphor here; e.g., you cut their case down, or shaved off their damages sought, etc.).
Good morning y'all, and happy Friday! Seeing some of y'all's photos has created pic envy. I need to figure out a light box design...
