The Day? Melting snow and a trace of sunshine.>7ºC. The Shave? The flexible little razor was honed to perfection but the extra weight of the aluminum scales made the shave a lot more tricky than necessary!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

PS. In the 1920’s the manufacturers started to make aluminum scales for razors. The world had just survived the Anthrax plague and folks took no chances where they could avoid them. Airshows excepted! Autoclaves / sterilizers were better developed and electricity had become common. Razors which would withstand the high moist heat of the sterilizers were needed. In later years, Barbercide and Listerene did the job without heat nor damage to scales.
