Not the best shave, I'm windburned and while sharp I think this shaver could get a little better.
-Hot Towel Treatment -first 2 min with conditioner -2 more min. with Jason's
6-in-1
-Whipped up some Honeybee Spa's Sandalwood --lathered up
-Stropped razor (3 min) Dovo Special Black on Tony Miller's Honey Brown
-Applied more lather and did 3 passes , the last one being ATG (relathered and
applied Jason's 6-in-1 before each new pass)
-Washed face with warm and then cold water
-Cleaned face with T.N. Dickinson's witch hazel
-Splashed on some Thayers Medicated Superhazel
I've been doing this for the last 2 weeks ---shaving everyday or every other day. The conditioner and Jason's 6-in-1 Beard Treatment do a good job of conditioning the beard and preventing razor burn. The Honeybee is a good soap and Tony's kit is great. The Thayers Superhazel does a good job of treating any razor burn and toning the face --great cooling effect. I've had great shaves using this method. Just started using the hair conditioner today --seems to help.

Ok, so the Dove was an experiment. And also was the fact that since I'd shaven yesterday and had hardly any beard I figured: I'll go against the grain in one pass. So one pass for the enitre face (except the chin, I did two there) and I got an awesomly close shave! I have zero irritation. It seems that after a year of shaving this way I've finally gotten to the stage where I can say I've mastered it.
And that feels really nice.

Used the little Lewis blade from Toxic today and had a great shave.
2 passes one with and against and spent some time working on my chin area. To my surprise I managed to do an additional down/cross/against pass on the chin to give me the smoothest chin ever.
Now all I have to do is start learning how to sharpen the razors .. the saga continues .. ;)

First shave with the AC - bought it for use as a travel razor. Very nice shave, but very different experience than a tradtional straight.
The blades are sharp as hell and the razor provides almost no feedback when compared to a traditional straight due to its heft and stiffness. The shave is eerily silent - you barely hear the hairs being cut.
Also, the razor requires a lighter touch than a traditional straight and is less tolerant of bad technique. I got a few tiny weepers/nicks, but my sense is that this razor can do serious harm if used with a heavy hand.
Still, a very nice shave and a great travel option - at least for me.
