woah...thats a huge stash...probably should last a really long time. i just got my first injector...not sure if i like it or not....
i got one of the plastic black handled injectors.....i got 60 persona blades and 14 of the tungsten blades....cost me $55 for the razor and the 70+ blades.
Upload a picture of your razor and blades. And yeah the tungsten blades are expensive im guessing you bought the one from amazon. There is a guy on ebay selling Tungsten plus 7 pack for $10 i bought 2 pack. I have been shaving with injectors for a while but i also have a collection of Straights and a few DE razor with about 500 blades. Im sure you will like your injector i know i do. I have a couple injector razor ill take some pictures of my collection but i have a lot. If you have any question ill be glad to answer them to the best i can. If you end up liking the razor i could send you a few different blades i have so you can try them out without having to spend a fortune like me.
this is the injector i have been using for a week or two. it seems my DE gives a cleaner/closer shave than my injector....i'm trying to find an adjustable injector to see if that gives a cleaner shave....is that what you mostly use?

I have been trying to get one but people on ebay are just crazy with the prices. I use a similar one to what you have and i have a longer handle one i like which seem to be a lot smoother and milder it depends on the blade too i have tried a lot of blades as you can see and some work better with one razor than others its just a matter of finding the right combo. I like the Schick plus platinum and vintage PAL hollow ground. The PAL blades are carbon steel and they rust too fast if not taken care of properly but still good shave. I love my Gillette slim adjustable with Super iridium too. try it out for a while it takes some getting used to. All in all nothing compares to a straight razor but that take some time to get good at but the rewards are worth the effort.
i havent tried the tungsten blades in it yet...will probably try it this week....i bought two packs from ebay.
It was only yesterday that injector bladed shavers were being tossed in the trash as... well.. "yesterdays news" Not worth the plastic they were made from. And it was just the day before that when you gave your dads old Gillette Fat Boy to your 5 year old to play with and didn't care that he used it as a shovel in the garden.
I will keep an eye out for my dads old razor, but I suspect it will have gone the way of my Spiderman comic books when my mom cleaned up.

this is enroute to me this week
Ahh we must have been bidding against each other i have been trying to get one without breaking the bank i guess so is everyone else. Congrats on the nice piece with a little bit of polish it should sparkle throw in a plus platinum or personna 74 and you are in heaven.
If anyone has an adjustable injector and is willing to part with it please let me know i would be very grateful. To buy or trade i might have some stuff i can part with shaving mug, or blades as you can see i have a few plus DE blades Straight razors.
it was a buy it now auction...i didnt have to bid
I remember that razor from when I was a kid...my Dad had one, he loved the injector part, was real sci-fi in those days and I got, as mentioned, his old DE to play with. When shaving time came for me, I remember using his one of his old DEs for years until it broke, and The Invasion of the Cartridge Razors began.
Nice razor, definitively brings back some memories!
i got some persona 74 injector blades...the blades all seem to be stuck together and i cant separate them....anyone have any tricks?
I had that problem before your best bet is to use something small like nail to put in the holes of the blade and try to push it out i actually used the key from another injector cartridge to push it out after i got the fist one loose it was fine. My suggestion is keep your blades in a airtight bad or container and throw in a desiccant or silica gel pack in with it to keep them dry and you shouldn't have that problem anymore.
i was able to remove all 7 blades from the back of the injector key...they are all stuck together...i tried hot water, i tried slightly bending them, and i tried a pliers.
looks like they are no good.
This is how i store my injector and DE blades. I also store my straights in an alembic case with a light coat of oil along with a desiccant pack.

just banged the 7 blades with a hammer...two of them came loose so now i get to try one in that adjustable injector tonight.
blades were from ebay. two different sellers...both packs had same problem.
yeah they prob were stored in a humid area and never taken care of but at least you got one 2 out of it. I just got an adjustable a week ago and i like it set to 3 or 4 but yesterday i got a personna floating head injector almost brand new and used it and got the best shave i ever had from an injector even though i was using a regular old personna blad cant imagine what its going to be like using a plus platinum or personna 74. I hope you can get the rest loose so its not a waste of money best of luck to you.
well...i finally got to use my adjustable injector tonight for the first time. i cranked it up to #5 and had a schick blade in it. used some stirling soap orange chill and had a great shave. i still prefer my DE but this injector is really nice. my other injector will not see any use anymore since its too mild and i will put it up for sale. the stirling soap was slick and had a menthol type kick to it. Alum block, proraso green splash, and some razorock wax....i'm good to go. what a good evening.Attachment 137491 this one is up for sale now.
