Finally got the blades in today, tested out the autostrop tonight, very nice. Didn't even notice it cutting on the WTG pass, felt it a bit more ATG but not bad. this will become my keep at work razor.

One of my favorite SE razors. I get several shaves from the Feather blades.

I like the balance as well as the weight.

    Enjoy!

I have 4 of them, I recieved a package from a friend that was chalk full of safety razors and one unstamped Wapi (he claims). I did not know you could get blades for them! Maybe I will keep one

feather makes blades for them, but they are modern blades so the stropping part isn't really relevant anymore

It's an excellent razor, especially with those Feather blades.

You can also modify a regular SE blade (use needlenose pliers to remove the spine) if you want a cheaper option for blades.

I have one of the first style you can use de-spined se in. It does a good job. It feels very funky to use, not in a bad way, just different. Different angle to a gem and a funny balance point.

I got a VAS last fall from my Uncle for about $5. Bought the Feather SE blades. Finally shaved with it tonight. My first SE shave. I regularly use a straight or a vintage DE.
Holy cow! It was awesome. I love the feel in the hand, and the blade just glided across a 3 day growth. A new standard for me to compare my straight shaves to.
Why did I wait so long?
I would like to know why the Feathers dont need stropping?
I used my SE stropper after the shave. I have a leather strop from another auto stropper, but didnt feel like digging it out.
