Received 2 Gillettes DE razors

Last week i received 2 Gillette razors, a 1968 black handle Super Speed and 1960 Slim adjustable. 2 great razors it is now 2 more in my collection. I did start whit the Micro Touch One after i bought the Parker 98r, the Parker 99r, my father gave me the Super Speed who belong to my grand pa(i belived it's around end of the 40's debut 50's no date code). For me they are all great DE razors, the favorite of them all is the grand pa Super Speed i guest it's a sentimental value and more cause i get real comfortable shave whit it.

The sentimental, comfort sounds like a real winner. I don't know how I wound up with a few DE's most odd balls. I like your collection better.

Getting razors with a family connection is always great. Unfortunately, my Dad had discarded all his older razors by the time I learned about 'traditional wet-shaving'. He did find some 'vintage' DE blades kicking around at the bottom of a drawer, and I got a kick out of using those.

Very nice story, done great Razors for your collection. It would be nice to see some pictures.

From left to right, Gillette 1960 Slim adjustable, Super Speed no date code(Grand Pa), Parker 99r, Parker 98r and Micro Touch One.

That is a nice looking collection. I just did three days with my 1964 Gillette Adj. and really enjoyed the shaves.

I found an old Gillette blue tip at the thrift store awhile back and it quickly became my go to razor, sad to say, replacing my straights.

Very nice set up.

I've just been doing a bit of reading on Blue Tips they sound like nice Razors. I think I will see if I can track one down.

As a sad rule of thumb, men tend to leave very little for their sons in the way of heirlooms. Women typically pass down all sorts of jewelry or fancy dress. My father left behind a harmonica, a Fatboy, a Slim, and a Fedora.

Consider it a gift amongst gifts that you have something that belonged to a grandparent. Cherish it, and think of the history every time you pick it up and put it to your face. :chapeau

That Slim Adj. is a great Razor, you really have to search to find an equal in modern day razors.

In my collection my Parker 98r is the most agressive razor, as for the others there less agressive but gave me good comfortable shave. My 98r is really heavy and had big blade exposure
