    Default Personna 74 DE blades

Recently, a member here, johnmrson, kindly gave me a couple of NOS packs of Personna 74 blades. My verdict: if you can possibly get hold of these I would recommend you do so before they go the way of the dodo - they're fantastic!

I've sworn by Astras for years but the 74s knock them out of the court - talk about smooth - and while I'm at it, sharp, i.e. real sharp, like a Feather (only smooth). According to the reports of other reviewers they last for a dozen or more shaves as well and I hope to test this out over the next few weeks.

What a shame these aren't made anymore.

I have just progressed to straight razors (which is why I have just joined this forum), but when I was using a DE I really wanted something sharp and found that Feather blades were not always consistently smooth.

I settled on Personna Platinum blades. They are excellent. I always shave every day and out of habit rather than necessity I changed my blade before my Sunday morning shave. Maybe give them a try they are easy enough to get hold of.

I'm looking for some of these blades for my injectors. I hear the term "legendary" tossed around about them

As far as I know the 74 was only made for DE razors, not injectors. They can still be found on ebay. Another great DE blade was the Wilkinson "Light Brigade" as it came to be called; you'll need to look hard to find any NOS examples of these however.

Wow, good research. Treasure them if you can find them.
