Ever Sharp Schick 66 typw G4

My Ted Pella stainless steel PTFE coated injector blades arrive today so I took the old Schick for a spin. Not too shabby at all, got a nice smooth, close and clean shave. The razor is a little on the light side for my liking but other than that no complaints. For what they cost they are well worth checking out even if it is just for variety's sake. You might get a pleasant surprise.

Nice!! Good razors! I started with one similar and have gotten to like the E-2 or the way later ones which allow the opening of the head by swinging the spring to the side or flipping a lever on the later ones. The early E series can be really aggressive till you get the blade angle right for your face.

I had an injector in from my teens into my early twenties, but then blades got to be impossible to find and I fell into the multi blade hole for a while. Pre internet of course. After I found this place one of my friends sent me one. Not the same model as yours but a Schick injector all the same. It is still a very nice shave.

I love my E3 and G1. And they are cheap enough a fellow could build a really nice collection.

I've been looking into picking up a few vintage DE's and SE's. Are there any particular characteristics to look for in the different Schick injector models/years as far as mildness/aggressiveness or anything in particular that stands out?
Seen several on the bay for very reasonable prices but I'm leery about purchasing from there. I'd appreciate any advice.

Really wish I could help you out on the Schick injectors but I really don't know much about them and only have the one Schick razor. I do have a couple of Gem SEs and I do like them better than the one Schick that I have.

Gem/EverReady SEs might be considered aggressive but are wonderful shavers with the right blade in them. Almost everyone thinks the Personna GEM stainless steel PTFE coated blades are tops for those razors. They are very different from DEs in the angle that you use so take a bit of getting used to but man can they give a close smooth long lasting shave.

The Schick Injectors, like other SE razors in my experience, got progressively milder as new models were introduced. Thus a Type E is among the most aggressive, while the Types N & O are pretty tame. The exception is of course the Adjustable Type M. I have and have shaved with them all, and prefer the Type E and M on a heavy, tough beard.
