Thanked: 3228Possible new stainless steel toggle in the works
For those interested in the unique Gillette toggle design I spotted this in another forum.

Should be interesting to see if it goes into production and the reviews are good. I doubt it will be cheap but it sure will be unique among current new DEs.

Thanked: 563Interesting. I was unaware of the toggle design.
Got a Rockwell razor in addition to my Merkur slant last year for when I am too lazy or rushed to use a straight. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by straight razor shaving, but I never feel the DE shaves measure up.David

Very cool. Nice that someone realized that was a cool design. Hope they make it. I might ha e to get one. Always wanted a toggle but they commanded a very high price.
I had the ATT 7 piece set and loved it but sold it to help get started with straights. Shouldnt have sold it.Last edited by Gasman; 02-25-2018 at 12:44 PM.

If there was another DE I would like to have it would be a toggle, not sure if I,m looking to get a replica, but there is a market as shown by what old toggles are bringing. But I still have my Fatboy , after 40 plus years of shaving with one I can tell you I get just as good a shave as a staight. So DE,s will stay in my shave den, and a toggle would be in there to, repeated in gold and in a nice stand. Tc

Thanked: 3228Yup, the Fat Boy @ 9 is one of the DEs that will work as well as a straight razor for me too. Got lucky last week and added a bottom dial Fat Boy to my rotation to go with a couple of Fat Boys and a toggle already there. All were local pick ups and never thought I'd see a toggle or bottom dial show up locally. Both those shave as well as the regular Fat Boy for me. I'd like to think a stainless steel toggle would be a DE Gillette would make today if they were still making DEs.

Ya I seen that bottom dial, and all I could think was, that guy at razor plate would be seeing it to do a Rhodium job on it! You sure do come up with a doozy every now and then Bob. Tc

Thanked: 3228Yupper, I have a couple of DEs and SEs that will give my straight razors a run for the money. Even the old Gillette Fat Boy set @9 with a sharp blade like a Feather can come close.
