Replating

In restoring old H-D's I use these guys, Brown's Plating | No One Lays Down Chrome Like Us .The work is great and turn around is fast. I've asked them about doing a razor but their service is great so it might be worth asking them.

Replating shops usually won't start with a job under $40. You can find a well-plated Gem for under $20 no problem. I've taken a plate worn 1912 just like yours and taken all of the nickel off. The brass underneath shines up wonderfully.

Thanks, that sounds like an interesting alternative. Can you tell me what you've used to take the nickel off, please?

Simichrome polish applied to a cotton t-shirt wrapped around a sander (sans sandpaper).
