    Default Gillette Super Speed restore

I found this at the antique shop for $7. She even came complete with a used blade. lol

    1) I washed her with dish soap and a trimmed acid brush. (Before image)

    2) Ran the ultrasonic cleaner. Used Aqua 2000 solution at 50ºC for 20 minutes. NOTE: This solution is not meant to be used for general "everyday" cleaning. It is meant for a deep clean before sanding and/or polishing.

    3) Dried.

    4) Polished with red rouge. (After image)

The green waxy stuff on there was caked on the underside. Once through the ultrasonic it turned a brass like color. Too much damage before.

But, all in all she came out quite well. Still, not a bad score for $7.

    Default Gillette Super Speed Restore

    Gentlemen,

That is a fine restoration. I have come across a number of these old Gillettes that seem to have been dug up from the bottom of a swamp. Yet they clean up nicely, and always seem to work properly. There is something to be said about original quality. An excellent find.

    Regards,

    Obie

I took her down to the green, followed by the white rouge then red.

Here she is with some of Al's "The Bomb" in Lime scent. Thanks for the opportunity, she's a great little razor!

Wow! Nice job! ....and a good price!
I just lost the bidding on two SS razors... each sold on eBay for +$40.

    I did get a 1973 SS in very good/excellent condition for $18.

    Entity,

It took me a couple of views to see the heart shaped handle. Where did you get that mug?

I am so happy you enjoy the DE!
