I don't know if your mechanically inclined, but if the threads are gone, I'm assuming you mean, worn off, not broke off, you can use a tap and die set. Do you know anyone that's into mechanics?
It's quite easy to re thread something.....

Your Rolls Razor handle has the threads gone so the blade won't secure to the handle? Is this the handle you have for your Rolls Razor?
-
A little off topic, but do all the Rolls handles screw apart? I actually found one in my dad's tools last week while packing up his shop, and the handle appears to be one piece. I can't get it to come apart.

Don't know about all models, but I have four Rolls razors and all the handles unscrew on them....
-
The instructions that came with one of mine mention a telescopic handle. None of the ones I own have a telescopic handle... I wonder if that's what you have Scububbs.
-
I wonder why the handles were made to screw apart? Could it be for storage? I went through my second box of Rolls Razors and found one solid handle in an Alum...case and a different solid handle in a Silver Plated case....

A picture of the handle that was in a Silver Plated case, it is one piece. Does any have a picture of the telescopic handle? Thanks

And in the very last Rolls Razors that I opened the box and read the instruction booklet I found a picture of the Rolls Shaving Handles..J1 - Non-Telescopic Type, J2 - Telescopic Type extended, J3 - Telescopic Type collapsed. But I still don't have a Telescopic Type in my collection...:rant:but I'm gonna keep on looking...Hope that these pictures helps you-all.

And finally after searching the antique shops and the internet, I found a Telescopic Type handle for my Rolls Razor collection. Thanks all for bringing this item up in discussion.

Wow, had no idea the handled differed-
Will have to haul mine out and look through them-
When ya'll that hone the blade on your stones do you remove
the safety guard first?

When I hone the blade on a stone I do not remove the safety guard. They are very hard to get back on if removed. Good Luck:)
-
Clock, man am I glad you said that- I was a bit skeered to mess with the guard. I will give this used blade a try on the hones as is- WIll inspect with a lighted loupe and try my best to determine where to start 1K or 4K.
I put some neatsfoot on the strop and it sucked it up pretty fast.
What about the little hones in the RR. THink they would benefit from a little oil or water when being used?

I often put my Rolls blade on a "finish" hone for a few trips.
I suggest keeping the guard on the blade and laying the blade on the hone as it would be normally. By gently pressing down, the blade "snap" into position exactly as it does when you utilize the Rolls hone.
That way, you are certain to maintain the angle.
-
I'm new to the rolls razors. And was thinking about this. If you hone on a regular hone do you use tape to adjust the angle since in the rolls case the back of the blade is not touching the hone.
I can't seem to get mine quite sharp enough to shave with.
Hope my question makes sense.
BTW I have three of them and the handles are different on 1, 2 have 2 part handles and 1 has a 3 part handle. I imagine all of them would have to be at least 2 parts to be able to screw onto the blade.

I've wondered the same thing. I recall reading somewhere about people making a jig for it that goes in the little hole at the back of the blade and holds the correct angle. If anyone can find a link to how to build such a contraption that would be great!

The ones I've played with didin't need any tape. If you're using their hone it doesn't matter if you hone it without tape before, honing with tape is what may cause problems.
Pretty straightforward to check though - markers are plentiful and cheap.
