There are too many variables to say there's a ''best'', although I will say any vintage Gillette usually a high quality razor.

That question is subjective and asked a thousand times. It depends on allot of things, heaviness of beard, coarse or fine, sensitivity of skin on and on. For me an open comb is what I have to use because of razor burn, and very aggressive. I use mostly a Fatip followed by a Cadet TP-27, and a RazoRock Jaws.
I've got a bunch of old and new, from the feather ss, to vintage de's o all sorts.
My favorite at the moment would have to be my old Barbasol, it's very aggressive but that's what I like. I use feather blades in just about every DE.
It's really a matter of trial and error.
Yep blade choice is very subjective. I like feathers myself, but find toning it down by using Treets or Astra's is just a bit better for comfort level. Feathers used without due care leave me feeling a little bit, only just a little bit though, raw. Not rashy raw, but not far off. On the flip side, used well, with no pressure, Feathers are a dream shave for me.

Had my first DE shave in over three months with an open comb Gillette i picked up recently, seemed too easy and did three passes, paid the price the next day, the worst burn i have ever had, bear in mind, it's summer here, and i was slaving away and sweating like a pig. That was with an Astra blade, my favourite, Glad i didn't use a feather, they are great blades, but incredibly sharp.
Just a recommendation on the Feather blades. Totally agree that they are wicked sharp. Loved by some, hated by some. Next time you try one, try it in an adjustable DE razor. I find that you can definitely dial them into to a very comfortable shave. That is the nice thing about the adjustables even though some to not find them aggressive enough.
Have fun
Totally agree with Lynn. Been using a Feather in a Fat Boy on #4. Great Smooth shaves.
To me, the Edwin Jagger DE89 paired with a Weber or iKon handle, but remeber YMMV
