Because they knew you would only buy 1 or 2 of them in a lifetime,,, but would buy thousands of the plastic garbage razors.

John has it right , no way to sell many of them so a lot of their production was limited runs. Tc

This is exactly why I keep loaning them out to as many people as I can. It continues to be very easy to make converts to safety razors.

I only bought one plastic one. It lasted me for twenty years. Until I learned better.

Beautiful things, back when there was more pride in a product produced.
If you haven't seen one, go have a look at a Wilkinson 7 Day safety razor set, real old school, half DE and half straight, little strop in them, each blade labelled with the day of the week, comes in a nice metal case, do a search and have a look at one, then post in, "What Do You Have in The Mail"...awesome sets!
