I have the Bluebeards Revenge shavette and only have good things to say about it.
I think amazon has it for about 20$. It uses standard DE blades snapped in half and the mechanism holds the blade in place solidly. It's light and handles well. I can't comment on how it will survive in the long run as I've only had it for about a month, but so far so good; it feels sturdy enough.

    Cheers.

If your budget can sustain it an you are sold on a shavette then the feathers get rave reviews. I started with a shavette an couldn't justify the feather price. I bought the Bluebeards Revenge (also known as Dreadnaught). I agree with Pi3. Its well built an the function for price is good. The only major drawback I see is that it only accepts the standard length DE blade. The Dovo for around the same price range gives you options of blade length. Wasn't a big deal for me an I liked the dread better. It has served me well an is still in rotation with all the straights. Amazon has them as mentioned. Also shavenation carries them. Good luck.

If you don't have budgetary limitations then either the KAI Captain or Feather series are as good as it gets, IMHO! Additionally, if you try it and find it isn't for you, you can likely resell it for a significant portion of what you paid for it.

For the money and shave quality a Kai Captain. About the same price as a Feather SS.

There's a lot of options out there. Most of the modern ones use de half blades and work well. I have the Parker and had nothing but good experience using it. These type are really unforgiving of bad technique.
If you want step up from this type but not. Break the back go with a CBJ or Sam soung (think that's the spelling) the are both knock offs of the feather/Kai and use the same blades. I have CBJ and it is a really nice razor.

If you go vintage you can get a weck sextoblade this is a straight razor. This was originally sold with removable blades that could be sharpened and stropped. You can still find nos blades for it. However now a days you can use hair shaper blades in it for a couple shaves and Toss like a shavette.

I'm asking for a feather for Christmas. Can't wait. Was going to ask for the DX but asked for the SS. Cheaper and I like the idea of the rubbery handle.

I now once or twice a month will use my MD Dragon shavette with half a shark in it. Can't complain for 20 bucks really..

I have a feather ss straight handle. I really like it. Professional blades. Going at it for about 2-3 weeks now. Amazing how muscle memory sets in. My first shave was about 25 min. Yesterday I had my shave done in under 5 min. The blades are fantastic as long as you dry your razor well. They seem to get best results at shave 2-6...at least for me. Highly recommend the feather ss.

The shaves per blade will steadily increase if your experience follows most of us.

I use a Feather DX folding mostly when I am working remote and can stash the kit on site (the Feather and its variants are not carry-on items...)
My post shave routine is a hot water rinse followed by a dunk in a container of alcohol - preferably 91%.
Once I stopped removing the blade each time to clean/dry the blade life went from 5-6 to 17-21 shaves in short order.
And yes, the first 1-2 shaves can be "weepy" - all the more reason to try to get more shaves per blade.

And they show up on the classifieds from time to time.
