I typically shave every day. The normal shave is a two pass affair yielding the closeness I seek.
If there is irritation for some reason I will only do one pass. As your experience level develops, you will find a one pass shave yields acceptable results.
OTOH, I can also say " T' ell wid it" and skip a day. My choice.
Do what fits.

I seek a nick free/weeper free, BBS shave with a straight. The only way I can consistently achieve this, is with a minimum of 3 day growth. More growth, the better. Shaves at 5 days growth or greater are unbelievable.

Every two days is the norm for me since I generally try for (but don't always succeed) with a BBS in most areas. If I try to shave every day I do get a bit of irritation, but I am still new at this so perhaps once I get better at it daily might be a possibility. But not necessary I think, my beard grows slowly but is fairly coarse.
You have to experiment to find out what works best for you.
