I've been using straights for a while now...it's gotten to the point to where I really don't think about what I'm doing and the movements are automatic. I don't go for BBS but DFS is the order of the day. Anyhow, I wanted to try my old Merkur slantbar today. Resulting shave...close but with 5 nicks. I haven't nicked my self 5 times in the last 3 months with my straights! Oh well, back to the straights I go.
Yeah, there is nothing like a properly honed straight in experienced hands:)
DE's are fine, and I use them now and then, but the straight razor is what brings a smile on my face while doing the most mundane chore known to man!
Good to hear, as I have been having the same experience with my SRs. Of course it's also bad news for me since I just received my DE yesterday as a back-up for my Mach xxx, for which I'm running out of cartridges, and will buy no more. When I use it, I'll be careful and will post my experience.
