1. That's true depending on the shavette and the sleeve you are using for said shavette.
2. Very cautiously. Press one side angled down on a counter top and keep raising the angle of the other end. You have to be careful that you don't cut yourself or dull the edge. Sometimes, if wrapped in a paper sleeve, you can just bend it past it's fracture point without taking it out of the sleeve. Then again, I don't live in Hawaii were everything has increased ductility!:roflmao
3. I think that most of the DE's are snapable, at least all the ones I've encountered in my limited experience.

Wow, do I feel like a 'tard. That wasn't all that hard at all...I was thinking I had the wrong kind of blade and was using injector blades instead (not that easy to get in. Thanks Cuda...
Every time I tried to "snap" one I have ended up bleeding on the counter. Now I just use a small pair of wire cutters to snip them in half.
you know, i had the same thought. I got up after reading Fred's post (praying that the end of #2 wasn't true...lol:roflmao ) and snapped one in half. Easy enough, but i thought...Damn, almost cut myself...i could just use the clippers I have in my fly trying box...
Aren't you supposed to leave the wrapper on when you snap it? :(
Or use a straight razor :nj
For that I'd rather use a regular DE, but if you already have a shavette, there's no reason not to use it, especially since you can handle a straight.
