Ok I couldn't help it....the scales, to me, are so unique....I just had to....
I know there are many opinions on Thiers-Issard on shave-readiness, and even more on TAOS on the same topic. I can only speak for this particular blade, but it was pretty darn close. The sales associate let me handle the razor (some stores are not so trusting without a guard on the blade) and I thought to myself....a little balsa, a little Chromium....a little strop...I bet I can get this thing good to shave (call it noob enthusiasm). So I bought it and gave it a shot!

Whelp....I was right! The edge cleaned up quite nicely. I am sure it is not quite up to SRD standards, but it shaves really nicely and at least for now is not tugging or pulling in the least...and no tangible Alum bar burning after the shave either! I am excited to send it out eventually, for now I figure I can save the little bit of metal and enjoy it at least for a bit before I do.

The scales are incredible and have a lot of texture and depth. The blade is just heavy enough to make it feel like a truly premium razor, the scales provide just the right balance. I think I am in love!
