Thread: Dovo breakin my heart.

Rant warning, need to blow off steam!

Background story: Mid-December I had finally got my Dovo back into shaving form after letting it sit in the bathroom and getting a surface coat of rust. The few shaves I got out of it were glorious. Within I would say 2 weeks, I knocked it off the counter and into the toilet. Blade open...Insert obligatory, 'This is why we can't have nice things!' comment. Quite devastating after all the work put into getting that edge right, and I'm only being mildly sarcastic when I say that!

Well, since I had one razor suitable condition, I haven't felt like messing with it. Until this passed weekend. I honed this thing 3 times and thought I had it sorted out. The burning in my cheeks (and closer inspection with a loupe) say otherwise. Part of the edge is still nicked, and I missed that somehow while honing. Maybe the whiskey had something to do with that? Nah, can't blade good ol' Jack for this one. The other razor I was honing turned out fine.

I swear this blade is cursed, and part of me wants to find a cliff to throw this @#$%ing thing off of.

Well, it cost too much for that and no point blaming the razor for my own carelessness. So this weekend it will go back to the stones to reset the bevel and try again.

Maybe I'll save the victory drinks for after honing this time. Just to be safe.
