Starting to get the hang of it then bam!
So on shave #14 with the straight, things have been OK certainly not BBS, but no cuts. Well been trying XTG passes and ATG and it goes OK but the XTG on my upper lip I found out how sharp my blade is on my lip! First good nick with the straight. Thank you styptic pencil.

Been there and done that . Happens to the best of us sooner or later. Letting the darn spot heal, shaving around it, is the most painful part for me.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 351Standard operating procedure.
Start off very careful, get careless, oops, back to being careful..... We've ALL done it, and some of us even re-visit the whole thing down the road for some odd reason. <sigh>
Remember, keep a recent photo for the surgeon and... "Chicks dig scars".

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Is it just me, or am I the only one to notice? OP cut upper lip on an XTG (across the grain) pass? Upper lip is a down stroke (WTG), and for the daring, an up stroke (or fool's pass, ATG). Seem like a tight area for an XTG stroke. Just a thought.
A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.
