I suppose that I have now developed enough as a shaver that I have a favorite type of blade. I have a fine old Wosty frame back that I just cant seem to get through shaving without a tiny nick or two. With a big wedge or near wedge, I am perfect, but with that little Frameback, I just cant help but bleed a little. She just doesnt like me, I guess.

Check the edge for a micro-chip. Lightly run a Qtip along the edge, the cotton will snag the slightest chip. When I bleed the first thing I do is check for a micro-chip.

If you find a chip, check your strop. Wipe with a folded clean damp white paper towel, see what comes off, may need a good cleaning.

I had a biter once upon a time. I traded it. The new owner has no issues and loves it. It simply was not for me. My other razors that were the same style and size, no problem. It was just that one.

I had one too. Was told by a honemeister who I had do the edge, if I didn't like it when I got it back it from him it was me. I'm still here; the razor isn't. Neither is the "honemeister"

Im not much for the frame-back razors. They are just too stiff. I like a little flex. I get along with wedges too so who nows for sure what the issue is. To find what you get along with takes many razors. Pick up another frame-back and try it. It might be just that one razor.

I've been using several razors lately that I had never shaved with.
Only recently too, have I been shaving regularly again after a couple years bearded.
So my skin is adjusting just fine.
But my technique got sloppy, and so I'm getting a couple nicks each shave. that's worse than when I first started back in 2011! Ugh!
I think it's mostly because I need to improve my skills, especially because I'm trying a different razor every week that I've never used before.
If I was using the same one, probably less cuts.
So I think if it's not a micro-chip, or other similar issue, it's probably the technique... unless the razor is flawed, you can train yourself the right technique. IMHO.

i think eery one has that one razor that just doesnt like you, i go forever without so much as a nick, then i go into my safe and get out dracula. its a DD spike, never fails to draw blood, so i keep it just to remind me that i am human and can bleed.

I got a really nice Thomas Mfg straight razor from outback a while back. At first it made itself well known that it required blood. So, I pulled it's teeth (round the toe slightly) and now it's my favorite razor to shave with. Crazy how that works!
