Shaving epiphany
Hey all,
I wouldn't consider myself a newbie anymore, but I'm by far an expert either...I started shaving with a straight a few months back, and have been using them exclusively (yes, not even a DE for touch-ups!) for about a month now. I've always gotten a little irritation around my chin and bottom of my neck. Today, after watching Jockeys shaving video I had a revellation, use less pressure! It worked when I was learning with my DE using very little pressure, so why not with a straight? So I tried that today with my straight, and used as LITTLE pressure as I possibly could when pushing the blade along my skin. It worked wonderfully! It didn't get quite as close on the first pass, but hey, that's what the second pass is for! So my face feels a lot better after today's shave, it feels pretty good actually. Just use as little pressure as possible and let the blade do all the cutting.
Just thought I would share my hallelujah moment with you all!
Dave
p.s. It's a self-honed razor, so it makes the shave that much more pleasurable
