Plug-ins never worked for me..
My wife got me a Braun electric about 30 yrs ago for Christmas. Somebody told her it was the best shave ever. I used it a couple of times. It felt like I was yanking the whiskers out of my face. The shave was horrible and I looked like I hadn't shaved for days in a few hours. I haven't touched a plug-in since.

Here in Finland we don't have nothing but electric razors and cartridges.
I have used both of them almost twenty years and I think electrics gave me the worst shaves in general. The best thing about electric is that it is easy to catch and shave but the shaving result is horrible comparing to any other system.
I'm only happy that I devastated mine. Crushed, Burnt the pieces inside the campfire. And finally shake the ashes out in the woods.
:D
I used to use an electric, I ended up almost grinding off my face because I would press it so hard towards my face trying to get as close a shave as possible. So far I have gotten my worst razorburns using an electric
I have an electric in a drawer along with my cartridge shavers. I haven't shaved with it since I started DE shaving. I have a couple enemies I might send it to. I certainly wouldn't give it to any of my friends.

I have 2 electrics, both Remingtons. One was quite pricey and the other was 7 bucks at the BX. The pricey one has replaceable foil and cutter. Did that twice at 20 bucks each time! The other one is a throw away. I haven't used either since starting straight shaving close to 2 months ago. Electrics tear up my face and I bleed pretty good with them. Since using a straight my face has cleared up nicely!
just a thought but its pretty amazing that after hundreds of years no one has improved the quality of a shave from a simple straight razor even the electrics and the new fusion 5 kind of makes you think what else we are missing out on that in considered obsolete technology:hmmm:
I got an electric like 8 yrs ago..but i dont think i have used it more than 8 times. Electrics are for lazy people and those with no time to spare.
I use electric when I turn the lights on to shave.
Ditto.
When I first started shaving I borrowed my uncle's electric and didn't like it even at that age of 15. My bad experiences with it compares to the others here. Burning, tugging and really just a little shortening of whiskers as opposed to shaving them. I suppose they would be OK for a light beard, but for a heavy beard I would think they would be a waste of time.
