I've been wanting a scuttle but they tend to be pretty pricey. This could be a great solution.

I don't like scuttles, even the new Georgetown large scuttle. The are not large enough to create lather and the water cools quickly. If the water is too hot, it breaks down the cream as well. No real good way to go here so I am happy with the high rim $3 chinese noodle bowl from Wal-Mart.
Depending on its size, this may be an alternative.

Your find undoubtedly works better than my idea to use a chocolate fondue set for keeping the foam warm.

Still, the bowl is perfect for making lather, and I put it in a sink of hot water on the stand so the lather stays warm, so it worked out OK.
