Mission Accomplished !

Today was my first shaving experience! :rock: NO major cuts, just a small nick on my left inner upper thigh.. :gaah: From here on good bye disposable razor Hello Straight Razor!

Liltha or Silver what do you recommend for goose bumps after shaving?
My hubby said that I have to shave 3 ways: going against, going with and across. Do you gals do this? :hmmm:

PS I bet you can go directly ATG. I do on some parts of my face so you should be able to make out fine against the leg hairs. I don't know if that would amplify your goosebumps though.

I only do one pass, and it's against the grain. I don't use anything to combat the goosebumps, since they go away on their own, and I've found that I get them less and less as my body gets used to the straight razor.

I did noticed later in the evening the goosebumps went away. Hopefully, it will be less each time.

I only do one pass ATG, sometimes I still need to do an XTG on the knees but I think thats just me, hehehe.:o Never had a problem with goosebumps on the old pins, but I did get them elsewhere when first using a straight. It seems your skin does get used to it after a couple of times.;)

That is what I thought, only ATG. I found it difficult to shave with the grain and was afraid to cut myself.

I have that same exact cream/scent, I love it! I found that I could make it even smoother by first working the wet brush on a bar of shaving soap, before introducing the truefitt. Check out the uber lather article in the wiki for an idea of how it's done. Somehow the combination of soap + cream is so much better than either one individually...

I am curious, can you complete both legs without stropping? Or is it one leg, strop, then the other?

Beautiful razor and congrats. Just wondering, how much lather is needed to shave legs? And how long does it take to make it? It seems to take forever sometimes just getting enough to lather my face for two passes.

My last shaving took a total of 15 minutes (with 2 passes).
Definitely, requires a lot of lather.:D

using that much lather will give you a chance to try out new soaps before us men do :cry: congrats on the shave and the nice razor. why am i in the ladies forum :w time to go :gl:

I'm jealous. I bought three soaps when I first started using a brush and....I'm still on my first cake....:gaah:

try some mamabears soap that will slow ya down for a while Mama Bears Soaps , Mama Bears Shaving Soaps and Bath Products for the Discerning Gentleman and Lady they make excellent lather
