I measure my experience with DEs in decades and my experience with str8s in months, so I don't think I'm giving up DEs anytime soon.
Although I find I'm getting better, I still can't get totally clean shaven with a str8. It may be my experience, but the DE gives me better control and lets me shave at angles I just can't get with a str8.
I recently tried a motorized M3P and it shaved surprisingly well with absolutely no irritation or discomfort, but the pivoting head prevented me from having enough control to get at the last stubble in difficult spots.
I also use injector razors, which are quite good. I have trimmed down a Feather str8 blade and put it in an injector. This combination is so good that I use it for my final touchups.
Straight for the face, and injector for clean-up on the neck.

When I first started with a straight I supplemented with a DE but after about 6 months or so I weaned myself off completely. The only time at this point I would consider using the DE again was if I was traveling and the circumstances made using a straight impractical.
Like a lot of you, I use a SR. And I use a DE Merkur for travel, or a quick shave when I dont want to bother with stroping, or paying much attention.
I use the straight exclusively on my face, and the sides of my head. But I do use a head blade for my head.
