My answer is yes. It was not in my decision, but rather in my Journey. One day I decided I was gonna do it, and set about researching it. And I am so glad I found this place. SRP got me started right, and kept me at it.

I was using straights before Al Gore invented the internet. That being said I have epanded my knowledge considerably since coming accross SRP.
SRP was not the reason why I decided to take up straight shaving, I had taken that decision some time before. It was just that once I decided I have a go at it and was looking for resources that I came accross this great site, providing me access to this wonderful community of like-minded straight- and other wet-shavers. I knew then that, once I go ahead with the Art of Straight Shaving, I had a place where to ask questions and also get answers, which was a substantial motivational factor for me. Thank you again SRP and everyone here for all the support and advice you continously provide to all those Noobs and experienced shavers alike, be it Junior, Senior or whatever members.
Long story how I decided to give it a shot. I couldn't say that the site was a factor in my getting started but it was very much a factor in helping me to stay with it.
Badger & Blade whet my appetite and then I saw someone on there mention SRP one day and the rest is history.
My first experience was a shaving lesson I booked for myself at Trumpers in London (costing GBP£75), but I actually found Lynns DVD far more useful than the lesson. :hmmm:
Unfortunately, SRP did not influence my decision to switch to straight razors. However, and much more importantly, this site and its members have had a profound impact on the decisions I've made since. Especially, after I got my first razor - my first instinct was to search for a site like this!
Cheers and Many Thanks!
Not a significant factor in taking it up, but a significant factor in staying with it.
I had been using the straight for a while before I found SRP.
It sure has "helped" my RAD :D
Hm,
Yes and no :D What should I choose?
I tried str8 shaving several times before, but due to complete lack of knowledge on how it should be done (and poor results therefore) I gave up, and then got back to it, armed with all the knowledge SRP gives ;)
To answer to the openingpost: None whatsoever. SRP (and to a lesser degree B&B, which I haven't visited in the last 2 months I noticed) did influence my drive to buy lots of additional stuff though!
I found out about SRP after buying my first straight, but the finer points of shaving and the RAD/HAD/BAD/SAD sprung from repeated visits to SRP.
