Default A mighty fine Saturday morning

I spent most of last evening cleaning and honing my new Crown Razor Co. straight. This morning I woke up bright and early, anticipating the first shave with my new blade. I got everything ready, took a long hot shower then stropped my razor and lathered up. It took me at least 45 minutes to shave resulting in the cleanest, smoothest and best shaves I have had. A quick rub down with witch hazel and a little moistureizing after shave I was good to go. After putting all my shaving accoutrament away I actualy combed my hair and even used a dab of pomade! A clean set of clothes and my signature straw hat, skewed slightly to the right and I am ready to hit the town. (actualy I don't have anything to do today but it is never hard for me to find something interesting to entertain myself)

Congratulations! You could hit the town's antique shops and find a partner razor for that nice Crown.

That sounds fantastic! I think a good briar pipe with some Samuel Gawith's Squadron Leader or maybe Peterson's Old Dublin and a fine bourbon would round that out nicely.

I do have some really good bourbon in the cabinet but I have three rules about drinking, one of which is "never drink til dark" so that will probably be a treat for this evening. As far as the briar pipe goes, my dad was a serious collector and I have his pipes on a display in my den. I smoke one about once a year and enjoy it but I never got the same satisfaction when I tried smoking more often. Today may be the day. We have a Tenderbox in near-by Chattanooga so I may mosey down there directly. I am not sure if they are a chain store or not but they do stock some fine blended tobacco. I do have a stash of some locally grown tobacco I traded another farmer out of, I may give that a try. P.S. alembic that is an interesting pot still in your your avatar. I said I have some good bourbon but I much prefer a quart of my grandpaw's finest. I am from a LONG line of moonshiners/bootleggers and built a working one gallon still for a science project. I won second place in the science fair and was nearly expelled from school all at the same time.
