    Default Iwasaki Kamisori shave Video

Here is one more for you all. This is how I shave with a Japanese straight. I love my Iwasaki.

    Pre Shave:
    Thater 28mm shave brush
    Mama Bear's soap
    Dirty Bird Scuttle

    Post Shave:
    Cold Water Rinse
    Alum Block with Cold Water
    After Shave Splash (Bay Rum)
    After Shave Balm (Burt's Bees)

    Thanks for the video.

From the video and I don't know if it's a video effect but it looks like you use a very high angle through most of your shave.

Also, you know that little flat area on the convex side of the blade rear of the blade? That's a finger rest to help stabilize the razor as you shave.

I get a more comfortable shave with a steeper angle on my iwasaki. Not sute why. I wasnt aware of the finger rest thank you.

    that would be it

you know every good shave vid either starts with a bearded face or closes with a shot of the dirty towel

Well, I know which razor I'm shaving with tonite.
    I love my Iwasaki too.
    Thanx for the vid

Good video and thanks for posting it - seems those ink spots on your neck did not come off with the shave ?

Do you prefer the fixed blade Japanese straights to the common folders ?

Because it's a short blade that maneuver is very simple. Much more so than with a western. I just hold the razor in the normal manner and stretch the skin and just shave in quick very short strokes.
