wow thanks for the speedy reply, i will be purchasing some oil tomorrow probably. Now that i know how to keep the spots from appearing how do i get rid of the ones that are already there?
Oh and what parts do i oil?
i have a large rotation in other words a real bad case of RAD.i use just plain olive oil and it been doing its job nicely in the damp air of switzerland( ever notice that all pictures of switzerland are either white or green?) to get rid of your water spots you might try toothpaste just a pin head sized dap on the spot and theb rub with toilet paper. be carefull working on your razor the worst razor cuts by far are on my hands not my face
yes i do oil every single blade i sharpen.use maas will clean up water spots.gl
mcjacob71990,
I live in an old damp Victorian House, so I 'oil' my razors after every use.
I prefer to use Sentry Solutions TufGlide/TufCloth to protect my razors.
This leaves a very thin, dry film on the blade, which does not need removing before stropping & shaving.
Excellent stuff :)
If the razors need longer term storage, I use Ballistol or RIG grease.
Have fun !
best regards
Russ
+1 on the advice given about the oils to use. To get those waterspots off, use MAAS polish and a Q tip, works great! Just avoid any goldwash as the MAAS will remove it.
Query, would silicone lubricating oil work?
